- This piece is smoky and just a little bit moody ;-)
In this video I will show you how to create an effective and sultry, smoky blend with @DixieBellePaint Chalk Mineral Paint.
As well as teaching you how to blend, I will also show you how to use Black Glaze, & Gold Metallics for a little touch of grunge.

This has to be one of my fav pieces now by you! I love purple and what a cool & happy accident indeed how the two paints made this beautiful purple shade. And um yeah, will definitely try this combo at some point. :-)
Thank you, glad you enjoyed this one. Yeah I was totally going to go in another direction with it, but once I saw how impactful that blend was, I thought it better to stop there ❤️
I am so incredibly jealous of the rainstorms you get!! I would hang out in that warehouse ALL day and listen to that!
We don't get many crazy ones in all fairness, just a few throughout the Sunmer! They are nice to listen to though I agree 🙂
I think this turned out beautiful, dark and impressive.
Thank you 🙂
Love it!! The color combination and the drama! Well done 👏
Breathtaking!
Would love to see the piece in its entirety. We got a glimpse of the sides and a smidge of the top at the end, but I love your work so much I want to see the whole composition ❣️
Thank you Jodie
Thank you Candace, I do try to include the top where I can but sometimes I try to keep the time down as much as I can. Generally unless I say otherwise, the tops and sides are painted in a similar way to the front 🙂
Love your work, and the color . The base color in black is a unique idea. Thank you.
Thank you Jilliane... I always feel like the base colour underneath can affect the over tone of the colours on top, so I thought black would be super dramatic 😉
I absolutely adore this piece - so beautiful
Thank you 🙂❤️❤️

Thank you Veronia!🥰🥰
Thanks for the shoutout 😘
You're very welcome 😘😘
Good stuff!
Thank you James!
I would add on those decorative carving elements before painting the whole dresser to fill in all the gaps with the paint. Otherwise they look a bit foreign if you put them after.
👍
absolutely beautiful! Do you paint the outer edges of the drawers? If yes, also blended? thx for sharing your art & process with us!
Thank you so much! When you say outer edges do you mean the drawer rims?
@@jodieflavell yes :)
Why did you decide that this is Victorian type?
I bought it from an antique centre. You can tell by the veneer, shape, decals and style that it is Victorian.
@@jodieflavell It is probably Depression time.
Do you mean the Depression era in the US, because this is a UK made piece of furniture. Around that time too, the UK were producing more art nouveau styles and Lebus flat-pack style after the war. This piece is huge, also suggesting it is Victorian made.
