Our politicians would allow a store that just sells them to be put in every city and hold conventions just for the meds if it killed the kids instead of helping them.

FYI, ADD or ADHD medication users are disqualified from joining the U.S. military.

@@gordy577I chatted with US Army recruiters just 2 days ago and asked about if ADHD still would disqualify you and they said that you can still join the military after an evaluation which requires to see how your behavior is different without medication because what if you don't have your medication to help you out

Ive been diagnosed with adhd since I was 11 and took amphetamines for a decade, Ive also worked in pharmacies for 12 years. Please dont take this poison. It doesnt make you a better person just an addict with numb emotions and senses. There are other ways we can overcome our disorder that dont involve a schedule 2 narcotic.

Worse when parents take their kids off the meds when the school year starts and think just because they're in the classroom environment they'll be OK. NO, instead now their behavior is acting as a trigger to disrupt the entire class.

We need to change the way we are educating our children in the US. European countries allow kids to *MOVE* throughout the day. We have such high expectations of these little ones! As a child who grew up in the 1970's, we had plenty of time for lunch, music, gym, recess, art, etc. Schools these days are shortening those fun periods and cramming in more academics. It's not working!!!

Of course they are. And here we have the media making a huge drama over it. These kids are having amphetamine withdraws

Or under-medicated. My friend's son was having a tough time in school, both behavior and academically. Started meds for ADHD turned him around within a couple weeks. Weened down the dosage a tad and still doing great. So many kids are in the schools disrupting learning for others and themselves.
