Hey, I have a 65 plate diesel fiesta 1.5 tdci. I have a whirring noise from the fuel tank area when idle or coasting. I don't know if it's always been there or I've just started noticing it. Is it an expensive/big job mechanic wise?

They are noisy pumps yes but it shouldnt be super loud, main thing is its still working! If its a new noise however just get a mechanic to have a listen, or if its a new car to you - you might just need to get used to slightly hearing it as your other vehicle may have been quieter

Does the pump have a mesh or filter to catch dirt in the tank?

Does a new pump come with a new rubber seal ? Or is it more expense!!
