  • An annoyed starling voices its annoyance. I'm not a huge fan of these birds for they are aggressive and will often displace local woodpeckers.

Thank you for sharing this. I needed to confirm that the annoying sound yapping too frequently outside was indeed that of a Starling. Now I know for sure.

Seems likes the starling is also making the mockingbird’s raspy mobbing calls too

These horrible birds have given other birds a bad name.

Sorry I left you hanging. I tried it for a few hours and it repelled me! Pretty birds, returning year after year, will get a screen nailed over their entrance hole when the chicks fly away.

Starlings are a nightmare. Way too many of them about. I scare them off to make way for the nicer birds that don't shreek loudly and grab all the bird food!

there are way to many people about, of which I count yourself. You should live in the city, you don't belong in the country.

Hi it's a shame you're not a fan of starlings. they visit my garden everyday and one particular starling I named Dyson, as its a brand of a hoover/vacuum here in the UK, and they hoover up food at a speedy rate! well Dyson visits me everyday and at twilight visits me to say good night exactly 7.45 p.m never earlier, never a second later, not sure why, I read starlings are not sociable with humans, they also pug on flying display for me which are magical and bring tears to my eyes , I feel so honoured they put on an amazing flying acrobatic displays for me. I am so glad I've town the time to get to know these lovely birds...
If we take the time to give a little attention and not believe all what people write about these birds then you would experience a new side of the Starling. Everybody loves the little tits and robins etc but give other birds with a relegation a chance and you will be pleasantly surprised!
beautiful creation birds make me so happy and excited to wake up and see new adventures with them daily!
The noise is a territorial noise from the Starling....the for sharing. Ali from North Wales, UK. Peace! 🐦

+ali walker European Starlings in their native range within Eurasia is perfectly fine. However, here in North America, they have cause great declines in our native bird species, such as woodpeckers and other cavity nesters.

wow cool people think of them as nuisance birds but they are helpful in eating a lot of insects and def alert other birds when danger is around. a lot of animals understand a starling destress call ,

scapegoating a species to make yourself feel better about your greed. native bird species are in decline due to habit loss which is as a result of humans overpopulating and polluting the environment.Starlings don't even affect the figures....

ali walker that’s nice, how do you identify Dustin in the middle of a flock of hundreds of starling that look just like him and never stop moving?
...I like their flying acrobatics, specially at twilight, tho I doubt they’re doing them for you lol.
In my country they come at 5.20PM, sadly, they have become too many and are taking over the resources of endemic birds like doves and hummingbirds. Not t mention their shit is attracting flies and literally covered the sidewalk... So I’ve been forced to shoot them on sight.
Of course, I’m not trying to reduce the population, just trying to make them understand my trees are “not safe” so they go nesting some other place.

@@williamkopff9887 it's not a great thing to get rid of insects. We take them for granted bu they're a vital part of the ecosystem

I shot a starling today, the flock flew with the bang but then one came back to make this ungodly sound.
I don’t know if he was grieving, trying to fight me or alerting other birds of the danger.
...would have shot him too but couldn’t really find him in the foliage.
