    I value your opinions greatly. Seems like you never cut a corner. With that said I’m going Bilstein 5100s all around to level. Strictly mall crawler here with the occasional gravel or dirt road. 2WD as well.

    • @Drivenwithambition
      @Drivenwithambition 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      5100 is best for all terrain , getting those install in a week, don’t put the lift to the very top ring, my auto shop said they know a few cases where the ring snap in the top height. 1.5 -2 inch is perfect.

    Hello and great information. Further to your comment about the needle bearings.... I have installed 2 x 3 in 1 spacer lifts on a 2017 and 2018 and in both cases we had to upgrade the needle bearing as we found vibrations in both instances. Although not severe vibrations but annoying none the less. IMHO I count on changing the bearing when doing any lift kits. Not sure of the new 2022 or 2023 tacomas if they have upgraded the bear from a solid steel bearing to the needle bearing shown in your video but I would think Toyota would upgrade these future gen trucks. We just purchased a 2023 taco and planning on different lift system such as this so again thanks for the videos. Fyi the cost of the needle bearing and special removal tool is around $200 canadian and takes some time to do.... as well as front diff fluid top up. Cheers.

    The main thing you want to do a diff drop so your cv joints don't bind and wear out prematurely. You can go simple with spacers and longer bolts or you can get a carriage system depending on your lift . A basic 2 inch lift and mild off roading can get away with the spacers .

    I used Falcon 2.25" Dampeners that fit perfectly into the OEM suspension springs and hardware (except the back which required some trimming of the shock bucket...) But for the most part, I don't like messing with my Taco too much. Like my Glocks, if you start to modify this kit too much, you risk losing some of the "Zen"...The Japanese put a ton of engineering into these TRD OR 4x4's so they are pretty freaking squared away right out of the box...Hell even the SR5 4x4's are pretty squared away too...I don't feel like I can't do any REASONABLE wheeling in my TACO....If I wanted a clown show Jeep, I would have bought one...By the way another CON of leveling is the shittier gas millage...I went from Avg. 19 mpg to 17 mpg right off the bat when I lifted and ran 265/75/16's...hope this helps...

    Saying a suspension lift helps with tire sizes isn’t really accurate. The first number in a tire size you keep referencing is the tread width so a suspension lift will have nothing to do with that. That’s 100% wheel backspacing. The tire diameter is what a lift will help with.

    I've never been a huge fan of leveling kits for a couple of reasons:
    1) The front lift still puts extra stress on your CV joints unless you lower the diff.
    2) Whilst in increases the approach angle it makes the departure angle worse, and most trucks have worse departure angles and approach angles.
    But it does make your truck look much better and it also improves ground clearance, so it isn't all negative.
