I believe that it is all about logic. Islam is never illogical and that is why if we pay attention to the idea of not drinking while standing up, drinking while standing up can make the water basically just drop straight to stomach rather than go down slow and have its nutrients be distributed properly, it can basically still make you feel thirsty if you drink standing up. Logical right? Just like that, if we fold our... clothes somehow, there is a chance that the clothing might unfold during your salah. Yes, you can maybe enforce your folding with a clip or maybe with small but extra folds, but it might make you feel uncomfortable due to clip can maybe poke you or the folding can add extra inconsistent weight, all variables here of folding your clothing will distract you from your salah, which basically means a disconnection of you from Allah during the salah. This is my hypothesis of the matter and I believe that the folding should not be done. I will not say anything on it being maqrooh or prohibited because that is not my place, I am only a ordinary human heing. But, I recommend not folding just to be on the right side
Our beautiful faith provides us so my ease, unfortunately we the people made it so complex and difficult. May Allah Subhan Wa'Ta'ala Guide us and forgive our misgivings, lack of proper knowledge and pratices learned and followed due to lack of correct knowledge. Ameen.
I used to fold my pants from the bottom because My pants were covering more than it should .I used to fold and raise it a bit. I didn't even know Allah disliked it.thanks for letting me know
In case if a person keeps his sleeves folded all day by default because of hot weather or work, in such a condition it is permissible as per Shiekh. Otherwise, not permissible.
The ruling of not folding your clothes only applies druring prayer. Whereas the ruling of keeping your pants or lower garment above ankles applies 24/7. Wallahu A'alam.
I heard from a scholar that when we stand in front of Allah all things to be lean downward nothing should climb upward....once asahabiyah tied her hairs on the scalp she was told to leave her hairs downward while praying.
But does the instruction mean folding clothes “while in prayer”? Or folding before prayers? For of we are to understand that folding one’s clothing even “before” the prayer has started is either makruh or haram, then for how long before the prayer should one stop the folding?
Does this apply to women as well? So we have to put our hair inside if our covering instead of tying it up or if are sleeves can cover our hands we can’t put up. Should I cut my sleeves a bit to make it shorter
The "overwhelming majority" is wrong on this. It is an act of pride to willfully disobey the prophet Muhammad on something so easy to do hence the reasoning that it is okay if not done out of pride is ruled out. Without that reasoning and if you understand the hadith only Abu Bakr is exempted for one of two reasons either rasulAllah exempted him because it was him or he was exempted because he tried his best to follow the instruction but at times was not able to. To willfully not do it is disobedience because if one can't listen to rasulallah on something so easy how can they be expected to follow him on matters that are difficult.
Thank you for the explanation as always but how about if someone lives in a cold county and you cannot leave your ankles out open. Would you be still sinful?
The point is not about keeping your ankles open, the point is about keeping your pants or lower garment raised above ankles. You can cover your ankles with socks, boots, etc. Wallahu A'alam.
As per Hanafis, it is the opposite, and folding is not lesser of the two evils as sheikh here said. Praying with ankles covered is the lesser than folding your clothes, so it is recommended to pray with ankles covered rather than praying folded clothes. (Whether it be folding at the end of the garment near ankles OR folding from the top of trousers, be it inward out outward) And, if someone is that concerned about uncovering ankles then they should wear clothes which do not cover the ankles all the time.
Rasool Allah said Allah doesn't accept a person's prayer if he's pants are below the ankel so it's allowed to fold your clothes 24/7 even in salah because of fiqh ruling of 2 obligation
Brother, it is a little disappointing that you are not mentioning the important of different rulings between an individual and common public. It is very clear that the Prophet s.a.w. has on a certain matter prohibit the normal public but allow a certain individual. And these rulings were literally accepted, followed by the sahabas. Like the covering of ankles were prohibited for all except Abubakr r.a. And there is no excuses given by reasoning or analysis done by any of our predecessors, like how u r trying to do. Folding of clothes are not mentioned anywhere, but only covering of body is mentioned. So why do u even discuss folding.
Our houses are on fire but we’re more concerned with the length of the grass on our lawns.
May we be guided.
😔😭
Masha Allah.. well said
May Allah reward you, beautiful explanation.
Vallahi, thsi shaikh is a blessing for the ummah! May Allah grant him kannst fordaws al ala without judgement

I agree
It gave me huge understanding of fiqh

You can fold outside of prayer, unfold when praying
jazakallahu Khair sheikh.
Ma sha Allah, very complex to me. May Allah Taala rewards you Syeikh and may Allah protect us from such evil thinking about Islam. Amin
May Allah save us from sins AMEEN
May Allah reward you, Sheikh. This is a very good explanation.

@@TolerantWig it doesn't apply 24/7, it applies outside prayer times
@@solsak836 what nonsense are u speaking? Garments should be above ankles 24/7
May Allah reward you.
Subhan Allah THANK YOU
Sami3naa wa ata3naa.
mashaAllah that was a great explanation. Allah yjazeek alkhayr
I heard from a scholar that when we stand in front of Allah all things to be lean downward nothing should climb upward....once asahabiyah tied her hairs on the scalp she was told to leave her hairs downward while praying.
Chapters? Nice! What's more if you add caption?

I keep my pants folded 24x7
So doesn't apply to folding during prayer
From shaikh's previous explanations
pants aren't included in this hadith..only sleeves
جزاك الله خيرا
can we fold our trousers from bottom if they are going down from your ankles?
﷽
But I have a question. What if I was wearing clothing that is below the elbow and I had to pray, what do I do then?
Below the elbow is normal
Does this apply to women as well? So we have to put our hair inside if our covering instead of tying it up or if are sleeves can cover our hands we can’t put up. Should I cut my sleeves a bit to make it shorter
Or does th is only apply to the clothing underneath or covering
Very interesting
We are the ones who are putting our houses on fire so that we can remain distracted all our lives from the beautiful ahkaams of shariah
Bismillah, the overwhelming majority of the Ulama do not consider lower the garments under the ankles haram. Wa Allahu Alam.

Secondly the warning issued what whatever is below the ankle burns in hell is simply too severe to ignore in my opinion.
Haram if you wearing no pants and praying in public spaces.
Mashallah.
Awesome
💚
Same for women?
Sound quality is not good

wear long socks. I live in a very cold environment and I have no problem wearing socks الحمد لله

Yo what? Then what about those in South East Asian countries where we wear sarung/sarong?
Same ruling: wear it such that your sarong stays above ankles.

Folding clothes, really? Xdd
We dun want riya come in the way after wudhu..showing off big muscles..dont u tink so?
Ah, If that's the logic, it's simply pathetic . . .
