Hey there! Thanks for watching! No...l.leave them outside for a while. Then l leave the greenhouse wide open with fans to dry out any excess water in their crowns. Then the next day l go back and check in the crowns to see if any water has pooled and l use a tissue to dry it all up IF I see anything. But my environment is so soooooo dry at this time of year, there is rarely any water left anywhere 😂
Ooohh this is great! How often do you water them? You mentioned in the beginning it was two weeks before watering some of them, what's the typical gap between watering. Thanks for sharing your tips!
@NicoleDeanna 😂. that's the thing though...my frequency during winter is always dependent on the weather. Because they are in an ( unprofessionally set up) greenhouse: just a greenhouse that l put in my patio and have heated with a small electrical heater, one rotating fan and a humidifier --- the temps can swing too wildly for my comfort. In winter... specifically the months of January and February in Ohio, I DRASTICALLY lower the watering frequency of all the plants to somewhat slow their metabolism so that they can tolerate the cold. It seems to work as long as no drafts enter and nothing drops below 40. I've had the whole greenhouse drop to 35 overnight and aside from the ones that were directly up against the panels ( l.learned my lesson) they were still fine. So Jan/ Feb l water vandas every 2 weeks. That is way wayyyyy less than they should be watered. But mine are potted so the roots adapt quite easily. And when l DO WATER...they are drenched or soaked depending on how the leaves feel/ look. In other times Oct, Nov Dec, march-ish, April...they are always watered once a week. When outdoors...end of May ( rarely) , June, July, August, and Sept...they are left in the elements and are rained on frequently and watered/ fed twice a week...up to 3 times a week if it gets very hot. These vandas and my entire collection live a rather harsh life 😂😂🤣.
Hi new subscriber I love your video I have 2 vandas that are also potted up but I have them in bark I was wondering what does the pool noodles do for them mine haven't bloomed yet I think their still to youngi got them last summer
Hi there!!! Awww thank you kindly!! Aren't vandas fun?!!! Now... Here's my reasoning for the pool noodles: pool noodles offer lots and lots of air around the roots while helping the root zone remain nice and moist! All while making sure that TOO much moisture isn't smack dab right on the roots themselves. It is a little trick l learned from trying to rehab my first vanda... The big Colmarie that actually arrived with one root some 7 + years ago. Max humidity... But no chance for waterlogging the roots. Plus... It is cheap 😀! What vanda (s) are you growing?
Good morning I'm growing Vanda Leurcharusmee ,Vandofinetia Blaupunkt x Neostylis Lou Snearly "Blue Bird" & Vanda Kultana Orose Two Tone x A Pakchong Gold Spots
@@kathleenross7412 ahhhh!! The Vanda Blankput will likely get to blooming size the soonest since it is more compact. Lovely vanda choices btw!!!! Pakchong crosses flower around 9 -10 inches tall but can be earlier if you are in a warmer growing zone. Us up north tend to need to wait a lot longer for many vandas to get to blooming sized.

@@kathleenross7412 oh the neo cross will likely bloom fast too! Crossing anything with neo gives early flowers!
Thank you I cant wait for them to flower I'm in zone 8 not sure what that means on when they should flower
