this is dope i can't describe how it makes me feel its like a dream i had in my childhood or a fairytale my mom told me about to fall asleep this is so amazing i wanna go back so bad
This music instantly took me down memory lane, of when my parents took me to 'The Enchanted Forest' theme park, back when I was a tiny tot. Ah, good tunes, that bring back good memories.
I always knew pixel art is an art form itself, not a graphical limitation that should be replaced by modern 3D realistic graphics. But dang i have not thought midi will have this magic too
I’ve been playing some old games using DOSbox lately, some don’t have music. This is perfect to play while I’m battling pixels in Castle of the Winds. ❤
I feel like there'll be an inevitable losing of the value of these type of music, of this type of art and style, the "limitation breeds creativity" type of style, in the past it was hardware, software limitations, now they'll have to be an act of restrain to make things like this, things like Shovel Knight that literally left the 256 color space on one pixel so they could have the right shade of brown they wanted. I don't wanna rant for too long but I just love this, I love this a lot.
MS-DOS graphics were clearly of something else. Accomplishing the like of this, with minimum amounts of ingredients compared to modern standards, just to entertain? Now, that's true dedication and fellowship for the sake of progress. I do declare.
If anybody else couldn't find the second track timestamped as "Eric the Unready - Track 6", I found it as "Eric the Unready - 03 Briefing (MT-32)" Nice, very novel playlist!
Erana's Peace is so good. I played that game as a kid and had a hellish time trying to get it to work, even on the relatively ancient computer I was using at the time. That game does not like modern machines. But it was a crazy experience, and it hit me with that post novel depression harder than just about anything else.
My dad ran an electronics store in the 80's, so I got to play Hero's Quest (Later renamed Quest for Glory due to the copyright issues with the name of the board game.) when it first came out. Erana's Peace was the song we agreed was the best in the game. Not too soon after he met a guy with a really high end Roland sound card who agreed to record every track from the game on to a cassette for him. We played it on our high-fi system for years! Such a great memory.
That Conquests of Longbow bard is such a blast from my childhood. I spent so many hours on that game. Being turned into a tree gave me nightmares as a kid.
Yo. This is awesome. Thanks for this. Obviously nostalgic for me, but even the young are appreciating that we've lost some kind of magic when they set their eyes on things like this
An amazing assemblage. Seriously life lived and loved informed this selection. Thank you for posting it in the town square for all of us in the TH-cam Kingdom to enjoy.

This reminds me of Mabinogi back in the day. Make your own midi music, make it into music scrolls in the game, make one for each instrument and hand them out to friends, and start a band. Always drew a crowd lol
Because of my early childhood, grinding for many hours on MMORPG, I have the ability to focus at a very tedious desk job to grind out dollars instead of XP.
Some of these tunes are surely inspirational and very fitting. The lute depiction, though, is hilarious, with that waaaay too long neck! 😀 P.S. Conquests of the Longbow is a timeless Sierra masterpiece, I personally play it every year, give it a try!
i should buy a lute
