    How generous of you to share this tutorial, Martyna❣️ This could easily have been a “course” that others charge for. The journal is gorgeous and you have inspired me to try this type of painted cover with crackles. Your English is beautiful and I enjoy your videos. Again, thanks for sharing ❤ Grenae

    Hi Martyna, your explanations are always beautifully clear - you say how but also why - and that is so helpful. Please don't ever apologise for your explanations in English - your English is flawless! The journals are all beautiful, and you have inspired me (yet again) to make another few journals. I intend to do a painted cover at some stage, but I had some lovely Christmassy fabric so I decided to use that first. Your idea of watering down the PVA using a damp brush really does stop the glue from seeping through the fabric, and I have now adopted that method completely. Thank you again for your lovely videos, I watch them over and over! Hugs from the UK xxxxxxx

    I am so grateful and thankful you made this video. You know I've always loved❤️ your journals and this Christmas journal is absolutely beautiful. To be able to actually watch you create this beauty, made me so so happy. I have a dilemma, maybe you can help me? I started my Halloween journal, I posted pics of the cover on my community tab. I only have a few Halloween papers. Here's my question, should I leave it to finish until next October or finish it? I want to make a Fall journal and I have all my papers ready for that journal, just have to make the cover. However I have everything ready for a Christmas journal lol. I think since Halloween is over, perhaps I put it away until next October, finish it then. It takes me longer to make a journal, because of my major back issues. I have to do so much every day
    unfortunately.
    Once again thank you so much for making this video. Please give puppy hugs and kisses for Chikita and myself.
    ❤️🥰🐕

      @TealandTattered  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Kem!! 😊 I am of the opinion that you can never have too many journals lol. I would make whatever I feel like! If you feel like making a fall journal, go for it. You can use your Halloween one next year like you said :) I think it's most important to make what inspires you and what's most fun for you at the moment!!

    A stunningly beautiful journal! I love your choices of paper, but I like that you mix new with not-so-new. You mentioned in your video how long it took for you to complete your journal - are you working on other journals during your downtime from this one? Or do you just work on one at a time? Your explanations of your work are very clear and precise, and along with the video, you share a foolproof method. Thank you so very much. BTW your voice is soothing and your accent beautiful!

    Greetings from NY! You are very thorough and easy to follow with awesome directions! That WAS a lot of work making this tutorial. It is great! ✂️💯👏🙇‍♀️ How many pages are in each signature? That is my downfall… determining that. I’m like you, I enjoy having a wide assortment of papers, sizes etc. I will save this for future reference. The cover is stunning! Thank you so much!

    • @TealandTattered
      @TealandTattered  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, dear!! 😊 I would say I try to have between 8-14 sheets per signature. 10 is my sweet spot, when folded it gives you 40 pages counting front and back and it's not so much that binding will be difficult :)

      Thank you so much Madeleine! ❤ For this journal I used a lot of store bought papers from brands like Mintay or Craft O'Clock. You can definitely use papers you buy in journals for sale. You shouldn't copy and print them but if you use the exact sheet you got in the store, you can then sell the journal :)

    In your last video you asked people to share something about themselves. I have never made a real journal, but have practiced with a few pages which were bound. I’d like to make one some time. I didn’t understand the purpose for journals as an art form until I found your videos. I thought you can’t hang it on the wall, nor share it in a way that people can see it without taking it out from wherever it’s stored, but now realize it goes so much deeper than something you can hang on the wall etc… I’m a two time cancer survivor and a mother of two boys. My eldest son was killed in Iraq while serving with a special forces team in the army. My youngest sone is now 35 which is so shocking to me. It seems like yesterday they were babies. I know it depends on the journal, but what is an average price for a journal you make? I’d love to order one with maybe 4 signatures, laces on the edges of some of the papers in each signature and mostly decorated with journaling spots both hidden and obvious. How long does it take to get a journal? I heard you say in one video you hoped to be done with all your orders by the end of the year. Please let me know whenever you have a couple minutes, thank you so much.

    • @TealandTattered
      @TealandTattered  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much for sharing your story with me Tina! I appreciate you so much! Currently I am not making custom journals for sale, rather I create a collection, share it on TH-cam and then put it in my Etsy shop :) I should have a new collection up early next year. The price of the journal depends on so many factors for me - the type of the cover, size, number of pages, decorations and so on! But the ones I make usually start from about 160 EUR :) hope it helps! Sending you love and hugs!!

  • @ericklassen742

    Please help me understand this. I am an artist and I think your work is beautiful but I don't understand the purpose of this jornal. You glue ephemera into the pages (stuf you paid for), then you glue other ephemeera over it obscuring the information/beauty underneath it. Mainly, now that it is finished, what do you do with it? I would like to do this with my little Granddaughter but she'll want to know why we are doing this too. Kids, huh? Guess I'm a kid too. Thanks for the video. Very well done.
