- ALOHA!! We're going to Hawai'i! We're spending a week on O'ahu and the Big Island and we're taking you along for the ride! From flying Hawaiian Airlines to staying at Queen Kapiolani Hotel, to trying out all the best food on the island, we're sharing everything we did, saw, and ate starting in Honolulu and up to the North Shore in Hale'iwa and Waimea Valley Waterfall (which was a fail). We went to Oahu in September!!! Best advice we got was DONT GO TO A BEACH IF THERES NO LOCALS…. We didn’t follow that device n ended up in a beautiful (lonely) beach full of MAN O WARS!!!!!

love that you guys rented a car for your entire stay. The cost to park a car at a hotel is nuts to me so we typically rent for a day and pack in excursions on that day and uber the rest of the time.
Glad you guys are able to do all this!
We had no idea that nightly parking for the hotel would be SO expensive everyday!! 💀 I was glad we had the convenience of a car, but I would also recommend their bus system, that's how I got around the first time I visited! (:
I usually book my stays through Airbnb and only book at Airbnbs that include free parking, definitely recommend!
When exiting the airport, recommend Christine's Diner, Masa's Cafeteria, Alicia's Kitchen & Eagle Cafe...among others
If you come back, Ululani's just up Kapahulu, 5 mins from Queen K is by far best shaved ice ever.
We tried it on the last day on O'ahu! It was SOOO good and soft, we loved it!! (:

Ahh I’m from Hawaii! Giovanni’s Garlic Shrimp is forsure better BUT you need to drive out to Kahuku for their original truck! Locals call it Kahuku Shrimp
& Halaeiwa is pronounced Hala-ee-vuh lol
Oooo, thank you for the tip! We also heard from another local that Giovanni wasn't as good as it used to be, so we def have to try the other location!! I also watched a bunch of videos on how to pronounce Haleiwa, and got it down by the end of the trip 🙈

How did u feel as tourists after the fire in maui...I know it's not the same island but did u feel greeted kindly and welcomed?
We definitely went with the best intentions to be respectful to each place we visited and everywhere we felt welcomed. Everyone was super kind, the locals are amazing!! 💛

How did you like QUEEN K I was going to stay there?
We enjoyed our stay there!! The staff is really nice and welcoming. We got a studio so the room was not the most spacious and had the basics, but we loved being so central in Waikiki.
