I'm located in Central Illinois, too! Near Peoria. Just bought a Prius from my parents that live in the northwest, and I'm highly considering converting it to live in or at least camp in on my journey back home! I love these Prius living videos, thanks for taking us along on your adventure!
I drove my 1st gen from Essex junction Vermont to Charlotte North Carolina and it only cost me around 80 bucks. I was like WHAT!!! That means it will be even better in this 2nd Gen I have now. Im only able to get 48 and 49mpg though. Maybe ill see 50 again mid summer. Everybody bitching about gas prices right now. Im like maybe you should stop driving your 5mpg pickup truck on monster truck wheels to the store to pick up dinner from across town. 😂😂
Thank you:) Yeah usually ioverlander. I’m yet to find a Cracker Barrel or Walmart that doesn’t allow overnighters but if those aren’t available I’ll find a rest stop on the highway or a truck stop gas station.
@@soilliam I just started setting up my 2021 Prius Prime. Thanks to you and others I am going to hit the road. I will not have as much room in the back as you since the prime battery is higher than the regular Prius. I think Ican make it work though. I am cutting the bed tomorrow.
Every diesel I’ve owed has all the Peugeots will get 60+ mpg and I own Honda Civic 2.2 cdti and that gets 57 mpg but wanted Prius but don’t think be for me think be disappointed in mpg vs the diesel
Love these Prius adventure videos btw great stuff. I have a prius as well 2nd gen too, kinda makes me want to just make my things and hit the road lol. Anyways, great stuff keep grinding
Great video. I travel across many states in my Prius as a snowbird to get out of cold Colorado weather and I completely agree it is a great way to see the country on a lower budget. About to do that again at the end of this month along the Gulf of Mexico states and boondock on the beaches from Texas to Florida. Thanks for reminding me how great it is!
I click the bell and subscribed. Thanks so much for doing this because I'm hoping to get some ladies Prius that I can do whatever it needs to repair I think she said it needed a battery which I have a couple of different low-cost shops around here that sell the Prius batteries. I'm still googling about a Prius because I didn't realize they were so different from standard cars. If I can get it I was googling to see if anybody was driving across country because I'm considering just taking my time from Oregon to Long Island and was curious if these little cars are up to that kind of a truck. It seems so by your video here😊 you made it looks simple. Wish me luck and happy travels to you. Best of luck on monetizing, I did what I could🎉
Do you like that lil electric pot? looks rad, and the one I'm looking at right now seems to have a setting to just pull 300w (I dont have an inverter and my power station can only go up to 700w so I want to play it safe). Have you tested what sort of wattage it pulls at all? Thanks as always!
It works well enough, it has 2 settings 400~ watts and 800~ watts. I wouldve gotten one with more temp settings if i did it again. There were hella options when I was looking. But overall nice to save the space by not having a stove+pot and just having the pot
Thanks for showing Hot Springs, Arkansas. I’ve lived near there all my life and never seen the actual hot springs water haha. I just bought a Prius though, getting a hitch for a cargo box soon. I’ve seen some videos you have an electric bike, what type/model is it?
Also damn your mileage is so good! Is almost 50mpg normal for you? My bean has got close to 300k miles so maybe that's why its not as good (like 40mpg)
Great vid. Taking my Prius out this spring. Traveling from Vegas to Florida. Celebrating my 81 first birthday. 😊
Thank you so much, I hope you have a great adventure! and happy birthday!
Man I love these minimally edited raw footage style vlogs. Great vlog !
Thank you ✌️
There are hundreds of edits in this video.
I have a prius. I drove from Columbus Ohio to the Tennessee state line on 7 gallons of gas. I was averaging over 50 miles per gal.
50mpg is 💯
Traveling in a Prius is getting so popular. I think japanese will make a ,,camper '' model from the factory
Definitely not with the new 5th gen one now.
Missed opportunity ...

Very good video. I was wondering how you find Cracker Barrels and Walmarts that allow overnight parking? (iOverlander?, etc.)

A prius is the best way to travel if you can handle it. The cost savings will almost pay for another road trip, lol.
