    I just acquired a 1995 W124 cabriolet and I love it. The ride is smooth and quiet. The color combination of white with a blue top and interior was the biggest selling point for me.

    Beautifully built and engineered. A very elegant 4 seat convertible and relatively compact. I like these a lot.

      They have to start going up in value right? Particularly the '95 with the upgraded engine. Timeless design and they didn't make that many of them. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    I've had my eye on the cabriolet for quite awhile.. I finally got one yesterday!! Prices are definitely up there for a mid 90s Benz compared to it's contemporaries. Drove a solid 5 hours right after buying it and it was a dream! hopefully it stays in the family for years to come

      And I think these cars have a real chance to go up in value. Congratulations on your purchase! Perfect time of the year for a convertible :-)

    The W124 convertible (designated A124) was built from 1991 to 1996, but only sold in the US from 1993 (as 300CE-24) to 1995 (as E320 Convertible in 94 and 95). I own a 1994 E320 Convertible myself (no builder signatures, though...). The '94 and '95 models have an Inline 6-cylinder engine. That engine was only built until 1997, in 1998 it was replaced by a V6 engine, still as E320. That V6 engine was then built for a long time - used in Mercedes vehicles until 2005 (2006 in the G320), and in the Chrysler Crossfire until 2008.

      All good points! Thanks for the info. I'm curious about the builder's signatures...have you seen that before?

      One small correction..
      The cabrio was produced until 1997 and you have it as a final edition.

    I been trying to compare this vehicle to a mid 1960's 220SE convertible which today looking at that is gorgeous and finding hard to see the E320 having the same appeal years later from now as it just is to boxy looking and not enough curves, though modern options are a big plus to have for reliability. great video !

    • @cassidycarcave2781
      @cassidycarcave2781  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea I agree the 220SE is way under rated for it's beauty. I know they are crazy expensive but the front end design and the craftsmanship I think will keep them appreciating. E320 is the budget version but I doubt it ever goes crazy in value. Just doesn't have the same aesthetic... but for a four seat convertible they are very desirable. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

    I think you’re slightly off about the value of a Corniche. However this is a magnificent machine. I’m looking for one now to join my Rolls-Royce. I think looking at prices of 70s Mercedes convertible models these will follow suit accordingly. Excellent video

    • @cassidycarcave2781
      @cassidycarcave2781  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! You may be right about the Corniche. They have a proven track record whereas my thoughts on this car are speculation. After driving the vintage Bentley I picked up in another video, I've come to appreciate that there truly is a difference between Bentley/Rolls-Royce (when they were together) and All other cars... My car is listed on Nashville Craigslist if you're looking for one. Thanks!!

    People are routinely getting 200,000+ miles on American vehicles. These Mercedes should be easily reliable to 300,000++ miles with proper maintenance attention.

    The signature to the right, I don't believe it is from anyone building this car. I have a 1995 Jaguar XJS with the same signature. I have always thought it was the signature of who made the pin-striping. It would be great if anyone out there could verify who the signature belongs. The Jaguar, I bought used from Campaign in Illinois, but I am not sure if it was bought new in Campaign.

    Mercedes deliberately put a solidy constructed top on the W124 cabriolet so there was no need for a hardtop. Unlike the R129 SL, which came with a hardtop as standard. Edit: Did you sell this car on Cars & Bids? I found a very similar car there, except it was in Smoke Silver and Texas-kept.

    An XK isn’t a piece of junk. It is less well made (Ford Plastics) but it is a very good and supremely comfortable car. Probably even more than this w124.

      The XK is gorgeous Peter I'll give you that. And with the biodegradable wiring harnesses on these Mercedes you can make the argument that the Jag is better built. I've had terrible luck with Jags but I always buy another because they are so beautiful!! Thanks for watching and commenting!!
