The soundtrack to this game is so underappreciated. Criticise the game all you want, but you have to admit the music is great.

The game is fine
The only consistently good thing about FF13. Though I will say, I wish they included the staple tracks like the FF theme, prelude, etc. FF's music is a pretty big part in the series's core identity and I would have preferred if they hadn't skipped out on those few tracks.
As controversial the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy is, it really has the best music in the entire series. No contest.

I love how this music starts like a dawn of a new day, but rapidly develops to become more chaotic and full-panic, with hint of a hope near the end.

@caiusballad4162 this was so amazing when Lightning was like “FIND YOUR OWN WAY BACK TO HELL!” I was shitting bricks during this fight I used Vanille and Hope for a magic oriented team and I had Vanille the queen of debuffing and status ailments as the leader

3:25 to 3:56 is beautiful. To me it sounds like a dream given musical form, if that makes sense. A dream so lovely, it wills you to strive and make it reality. ❤

2:05 I’ve never had a game fill me with goosebumps the way that part does. Especially if you stagger him right at that moment hitting him in the air while the orchestra plays the main melody. Brings tears to my eyes so moving. That part makes me feel like I could do anything. Only way to explain it

I did my first play though on this game in 2021 and oh my god this fight is so good. it was intense and difficult.(this was my first ff i had beaten) i love the feeling of going against a being that's essentially a god. i love how it felt like i was giving it my all and scraping the barrel while i was deleting its health bar while the time was ticking down to my impending doom. i also beaten this first try but it was by no means easy if i hadn't done a decent amount of side quests before this i would have gotten destroyed.
P.S 0:50-1:08 is just the best part of this song
I agree. That and 2:05 makes my adrenaline go crazy such a great fight. SO UNDERRATED man one of my favorite rpg’s I don’t care what anyone says 😤
It is very interesting to hear good and evil vibes coexisting in such wonderful progressions, and even more with this quality of orchestral arrangements. It feels like the kind of treatment Shining Force II and Terranigma had with their Final Boss Themes but taken to the next level ✨

I just finished Death Note, a recurring track reminded me of something, mostly the first 30 seconds, then I find out Yoshihisa Hirano worked on both FF XIII and Death Note.
