East coast season transitions do seem to be more abrupt in the last several years, extremely hot weather always precedes the start of fall/winter as well. The fact that you'd want a son someday despite having grown up with mainly girls is interesting, because I know there's many people in your position that would prefer a child of the same sex as them for the very same reason.
