Quite honestly guys those hogs acted like domestic pigs that are used to daily human contact. Just farm hogs turned loose in the timber. Hogs that are 2 or 3 generations feral are truly wild and way more cautious of humans. It's not often that feral hogs won't break and run at the first sight or smell of humans.

Any "guided hog hunt" is like that. There are several places here in Texas like that. On my families property we have tons of real feral hogs. The will run at first sight or smell of a human. These pigs didn't seem to be scared of people. Probably because that means they are fed by people. Not to shit on these guys. If your after the monsters that's the only way they get this big. I've been chasing after them my whole life and they just don't get that big in the wild. They have to be lean enough to run in the wild.

This is exactly what I was thinking. The .308 dropped both of those hogs in their tracks. The 7.62x54R the Hog suffered for a bit. That's what I saw anyway so not sure what he was talking about. Also, It looks like the .308 rounds had pass throughs, which I find to be good because you are for sure tearing up flesh all the way through and as long as you had good expansion and energy transfer on the way that is what counts.

Wild boar's and those mostly domestic breed boar's both taste way better if castrated a year or two before harvest. Most of their stank and gamey taste comes from still having their nuts...
I usually hunt hogs in macadamia orchards here on big island Hawaii because the Mac nuts they're eating makes them taste better and gives them more fat than any other diet.

Feral hogs in Texas are classed as vermin. My friend uses dogs to hunt them and a net gun, so they are alive. He then sells them to a local "Hog Hunt" ranch for the guests to "hunt". In Arizona the famous "Buffalo Hunt" is shooting them as they are turned loose from a corral. The last great hunt is Alaskan Big Horn Sheep. You need to climb mountains and spend the night under a tarp so maybe one will appear 400-800 yards away. Most people spend $10,000 or so and still come home empty handed. To each their own I say. Good Job guys!
