What a Beautiful Memorial to Red Grange! Only made better by the fact it was sculpted by a fellow Fighting Illini! Just a Fantastic likeness of Grange's at his best running down field, gliding over the Gridiron and avoiding would be tacklers like a Ghost! A Galloping Ghost! The Next I'm back home I've got to see this Bronze! Great Story!
Every time I walked the halls in school "Wheaton Warrenville South" which used to be Wheaton high school where red grange attended and played I always read through the glass all the amazing awards and trophies and to play football on a field with his name on it motivated me so much!
My grandmother's cousin was Grange's wife. He gave my grandparents one of his signed football Jerseys as a wedding gift. My great grandmother through it away in the 1940s helping them clean because it was ragged and dirty, Estimated to be worth between 100 and 250 thousand today.
I love these old stories of great players in college sports and this was an excellent documentary.

And I'm your father's brother's nephew's cousin's for roommate
This was awesome.
No such thing as the best players ever. Different era's can't be compared .he was one of the most important players ever for sure
For real imagine if red went up against someone like ray lewis hed get demolished 😂
But yes football wouldnt be what it was without him
@@tractsfn2458imagine thinking ray Lewis wouldn't be triple team blocked. He'd rarely get the opportunity to tackle Grange
George is the best sculptor in the world! :-)
Great sculpture.Very impressive!
I live by Loveland Colorado. They have a lot of great sculptures in that town
The Wheaton Ice Man. Ledgend!!! Go Illini.
This was really good, I'm curious if there was a dedication ceremony for the statue?
Loveland Co. My town now. Left the Illini & am glad I didn't have
to watch them kill Chief.
why can't illini be good anymore? They have a great history great colors and a big state. why can't they win? some one ?
Its not a big name college football program anymore. Everyone wants to play for Alabama and programs like that these days
I've seen where the birthplace in a very small village in the woods in Forksville Pa. I was amazed he was from there.
I'm pretty sure that the leather helmet in the artist's studio is from Helmet Hut.
How did we go from this to Colon Peckerneck kneeling the ball like a bitch?
This isnt a story about Grange. It's about making a statue.
did the Bolsheviks and their pets tear it down yet? never forget who built this country and those that then tore it down.
This documentary is way too focused on the statue. I don't care about the statue, I want to hear about Red Grange.
