    Great Idea. EVBLOCKS may just have entered the market at the right time. Well done Trevor for the hats, doesn't help the goose bumps though.

    I bought from Wicks 4x large dense concrete blocks and a 600x600 slab on top and glued them all together with grip fill.

    This could have Eco credentials as well, less concrete required.

    Can't see a lot of civils firms wanting base making taken out of there package , nice idea for the one man band, but even then i bet its a pain to get it in and level, we fit a lot of EV points and can't say i'd use it

      We are currently seeing requests for 5 - 50 EV Blocks per project at the moment, with a few hundred fitted already across the UK, they are definitely proving popular

      @@evblocks i see the potential for retrofitting in high streets and current locations where speed is of the essence .. i only do new build so can get the civils guys to build to the size and spec i need .. i do see a couple of issues having worked in the marine environment.. every product has its place and glad you are making a go of it, it's just not for me

    Are those hole's are right next to the hole, then the littlest nudge will rip it clean out. Why don't you also drill holes in the black plate in the corners and then also drill n tap the ally plate with a nut and washer on the back. So that way you'll have 2 different types of fixings

    There is 3 sizes available according to their website, there is 500 x 500 one too. Not giving any answers for the quiz away 😁

    The combination of aluminium and stainless steel causes galvanic corrosion. So after a few years the Aluminium plates will weaken and break! Its even worse with a salty environment so with road salt and cars parking nearby the corrosion could happen faster.

    • @evblocks
      @evblocks 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      All of the plates are anodised to prevent this, of the 400+ EV Blocks in the ground we have not seen this issue yet.

    What I most concerned about these is that clients may wish to install these without cement and may just cover them with stones etc and then end up with the situation where copper theft could be an issue or they try and steal the EV charge point as they become more popular! Its a crazy idea thinking it but I think that security of the install needs to be considered.

    • @timearp8185
      @timearp8185 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, some form of anit-tamper or theft needs to be looked at. I can't imagine a charging point is cheap, now it's easily removed by unbolting it and cutting the cables!
      I'm also interested in any crash testing that has been completed, no matter how well you specify that additional protection may be needed someone won't use it. What happens when there's an impact from a car or lorry? Can some sort of break away connection be built in so that the top section is no longer live/disconnected?

    • @evblocks
      @evblocks 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most public use chargers have SIM card within them, so they could be easily be shut down, unfortunately if someone wants to steal something they will generally find a way around it. Its a real shame.

      @@timearp8185 Thanks for you comment Tim, some of the top brands on the market have sensors that shut the charger down if the charger gets knocked, it is also part of the EV guidance note 4 that barriers/wheel stops/crash protection should be in place in front of EV chargers.
