I love the look of the exposed decks
This is so cool! the disassembly was a little scary, but your end result is way more interesting than a perfectly constructed model.
Please, please add more "camera around model" video parts, its very cool and interesting to see all the details, and how model looks in general.
Very cool! It was a mature decision not to add a small speaker in the frame that plays explosion sounds, screaming, and air venting. It would add a certain gravitas but as we all know, no sound in space.
This was actually part of my original plan but when I tried to record the sounds of the crew being sucked into space my neighbors called the cops
Lovely
That's some nice mayhem!
Great model work. Your attention to detail really elevated this ancient mold. The visible internal decks and backed-out windows really drive home the fact that this is a dead ship. If this display were tiny, it would make a great subject for a morbid "snow"globe filled with tiny panels of hull and unidentifiable black lumps floating along in the dark.
In my head, I'm having to placate my completely over-invested authenticity nerdself by deciding that the Intrepid, after retirement, was used as a target for weapons testing rather than being lost to combat or misadventure. This is apparently the only explanation my nerdself will accept for why the warp nacelles are broken rather than ruptured into cheery clouds of plasma and redshirt ash. Every other blowed-the-hell-up ship seems to imply those things are 250% high explosives by volume. I guess the special effects assumption is that full-on explosions are cool, and as coils they probably have a large amount of energy bound up in them that does exciting things when disturbed. So yeah, the Intrepid did the starship equivalent of going to live on a farm.
Now I want to make a dead spaceship snow globe
Nice job! Built this model as a kid. It was a light blue plastic though. Great find!
Nice build! It looks amazing!
After Fourty years, this Connie kit was thinking
‘finally! Someone is building me!”
*Nearly completed, out comes the saw*
‘OH GOD WHY?!”
You see what happens when you eat too many beans! Seriously great work!. The outcome reminds me of a painting from Chris Foss.
You did a great job on it! I have scratch built models and built kits and I still find scratch building easier. Thanks for sharing this.
Nice build. I like how it turned out.
If you need to solder brass tubing in the future, try a small torch.
The brass will move the heat away fast. This makes small irons problematic.
A torch is definitely on my list of stuff to get but it will probably have to wait until I am not doing crafts on my dining room table.
Sweet . Great job
If you can't figure out a place for it, I'm sure I've got some room somewhere! I really enjoy seeing my favorite ships roughed up, and this was really great work.
Model looks straight out of the Doomsday weapon episode of the original Star Trek.
Starfleet admirals must be so blase about this: "The Enterprise blew up!!" "Again? How many times is that?"
Ah yes, the average state of any Constitution class not named Enterprise
I was hoping he was going to bring in a Miranda just to blow up.
Scratch build a borg cube next
Storage, the ultimate problem!
It is a sickness and brother I do NOT have the cure
Is there a specific star trek weapon that would create pitted areas like that? Or were you just vibin?
The only thing that could cause that kind of damage (afaik) would be smallish debris traveling very, very quickly. Say from passing through a comet's tail or a meteor shower/storm.
Of course this would happen while the deflector dish was down for scheduled maintenance. 😁 This or the Klingons have started using slug throwers in space...🤔
That’s the trouble with tribbles…
Very well done, now do an MCRN ship from the Expanse series....
Not a big fan of the serie, but I think the Rocinante belongs in here
When will the next template come out?
Every other Constitution Class in TOS be like:
