Such a tragic backstory. Now you know why in season 2 when Elizabeth and the grandmaster went to the past, meliodas says he's tried literally everything to kill himself. He'd suffered so much
yup add the part where Meliodas slapped Zaratras' hand and saying "don't touch my woman'' when he was reaching for Elizabeth
it puts things in a different perspective cause others might have found that line weird

The foreshadowing even from season 1… the true meaning that at that time we didn’t know about… so deep.

As someone who has watched all of Seven Deadly Sins, I've definitely noticed subtle hints and stuff as I rewatched all of previous episodes along with this channel.
Either reading the manga or watching the anime, this is still one of the saddest moments😭
The Demon King and the Supreme diety showed up in person, because the DK is Melis dad and the SD is Elisabeths mother
You would never know by watching season 1 but Meliodas is one of the most tragic characters I've ever seen.

true, but this is a war the two started with no true reasoning behind it...they put countless lifes on the line, and led to the deaths of many, even those not from their own races
for no true reason other than hating each other, and it went to the point that their own children betrayed them, and were then punished for doing so

His emotions were taken so much that he became unstable that he will become a nuke when he loses it.
The main thing is that Meliodas is the Demon King's oldest son, while Elizabeth is the Supreme Deity's only daughter. They basically betrayed their own kind. This is the same as Romeo and Juliet story but with more trauma.
Which makes me wonder.. Since Gowther can erase memories.. Will it save Elizabeth or will the curse still continue, killing her in 3 days.
Yea this back story is one of the most tragic ever that is one of the worst fates then death 😢
just to explain...the Supreme Deity cursed Meliodas with Eternal Life, while the Demon King cursed Elizabeth with Eternal Reincarnation
and looking back, makes sense why they didn't curse their own child

but whats most upsetting, it seems every situation where Elizabeth dies, it waits for the right moment where Meliodas will be with her, and have to watch her die

Meliodas was the strongest demon known to his race and he was next in line to become demon king him falling in love with a Godess with that status and being the son of the demon king is why the demon king personally punished him he was the only capable of doing so
Similar for elizabeth despite not seeing most of her fights most demons fear her and there are statements putting her on the level of meliodas, zeldris and the Archangels so the supreme deity is the only one with the power to punish her
Also it's a taboo to fall in love with the enemy no matter what race you are tbh its seen as treason
