Fantastic movie, fantastic music, and Tom Hanks, well deserved his Oscar for playing Forrest Gump. I cried my eyes out at this movie, just the same as everyone else.
It wasn’t scripted either. He was walking away after the end of the take and they flew in. Thats why he turns to look. It was a total surprise, and so perfect, they left it in.
The most beautiful part of that whole scene, besides his beautiful monologue, is the birds. Which was unscripted. Those weren’t trained birds. Tom was walking away after the end of the scene, the birds flew in. It was soo perfect, they had to leave it in. Especially considering her prayer,”Dear God, make me a bird, so I can fly far, far, far away.” This part breaks me every single time. And I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen it.
What sucks about Tom Hank's performance was it was just as good as Morgan Freeman's in The Shawshank Redemption and he lost to Tom Hanks for this movie just like Liam Neeson lost to him in Schindler's List. All of these actors gave great performances and I wish I could have given each of them an Oscar for their performances.
Today’s generation does not appreciate how many people lost their lives to AIDS, and the triumph of humanity, in just a couple of decades, in conquering this former death sentence. The defeat, or at least armistice, of humanity and AIDS is one of our greatest accomplishments. Younger reactors to this movie would recognize this more if they had come of age in the 1980s like older generations did.
I don't know how anyone can watch that and not just be crying their eyes out, yet, there's several on here that didn't. Hell, I have to hit pause twice to go blow my nose and wipe my eyes. I'm glad that I can feel every single bit of it.
I dunno man, the algorithm just pushed your channel at me. I dislike green screen content for the most part, but I love your compilations! I look forward to hearing your outro thoughts and I really appreciate how you show each reactor individually. You also pick really good movie scenes. After your last video I actually went searching for this clip and then here you drop a compilation of it today. You rock, keep it going. God bless.
I have to say that in my opinion Tom Hanks is the greatest actor of the century, and that is saying something because there have been/are so many wonderful actors but his character range is so powerful.
I guess I’m one of the few who didn’t cry because I thought Jenny genuinely didn’t love Forrest and was the one character that treated him like dog shit through the most of the movie.
I hate Tom Hanks now but i still love Forrest Gump, the character and the movie. And this scene gets me every time. Jenny was never good to Forrest. All she ever did was break his heart
@VoxRox1 Hep C was a known ailment in the early 80s, when that part of the film takes places. She distinctly says she has a virus that they don't know what it is ... That's HIV. I don't care what the author said. He was trying to deflect controversy. If I remember correctly, he didn't even like the film anyway...
She knew she was a wreck and she didn't want to taint Forrest... Jenny is a character that has been abused through love since she was a child. To her, love is a punishment. She only understood what real love what when she had her own child.
Being sexually abused as a child will make people have all sorts of self-loathing behaviors. I guess if you don't have any empathy you arrive at a conclusion like yours. (PS, I can tell who you voted for just from your cruelty, isn't that just the saddest thing ever?)
@@Lexpert This right here. Agree. Her abuse made her feel unworthy of anything, which is why she chased abusive relationships. She never wanted to burden Forrest with that. It wasn't until she gave birth to Little Forrest that she finally felt self-worth, but sadly her trauma took its toll on her in the end.
His love for Jenny, his mother and for Bubba was bigger than any concern for himself. That is unconditional love.
Mama always said dying is a part of life...i sure wish it wasn't.
That always kills me 😢😢😢😢

The ones who tie the symbolism of the birds at the tree there with Forrest, to Jenny, are the real ones.
Ever notice that Forrest is always wearing red, white and blue? Forrest is the personification of America.
Forrest is also the personification of America. This is why he's always wearing red, white and blue
Well, he isn't always wearing red, white and blue@@nicholassoucy1543
@nicholassoucy1543 the movie is as Americana as it gets. Serves as a great brief summarization of modern U.S. history

Seriously if you don't shed tears during this scene you HAVE TO have a heart made of concrete. This is the example of a perfect movie. Top to bottom
Thanks for editing these reactions together they're great
Wrote a few of those letters as a kid for my dad and I definitely told my mom not to read them. That little detail was nice.
This made me cry so much. My mother died on a Saturday, and when I hear that line it just hits me.
Forest Gump, one of the best movies simply because of his unwavering love to his one true friend…
Poor Forrest he really didn't deserve to lost two people that really mattered the most in his mother and Jenny! 1:18
Bubba too
Alex Hefner out here dropping bombs:
“It’s our destiny to float around until we find our purpose.”
"you died on a saturday morning" always hits so so so so hard for me :(
Yes. and Mama "died on a Tuesday" . That's how can remember it.
WHY? Did you die on a Saturday morning?
What sucks about Tom Hank's performance was it was just as good as Morgan Freeman's in The Shawshank Redemption and he lost to Tom Hanks for this movie just like Liam Neeson lost to him in Schindler's List. They don't need awards to be the amazing movies they are. the 90s were truly the best of cinema
1994 was a really strong year for movies.

I remember the first time I saw this movie , this part absolutely broke me

One of the top five greatest movies ever made.
Forrest Gump is by all measures the best movie of the 90s
I would add Saving Private Ryan and Terminator 2 on that list. Just my opinion. 👍
I have to say that in my opinion Tom Hanks is the greatest actor of the century, and that is saying something because there have been/are so many wonderful actors but his character range is so powerful.
Men im crying everytime i watch this
Aaww Mr Gump ❤

At 9:21 This guy simulates all of his reactions, like a true psychopath.

The Birds heading to the tree was unscripted and so they kept the scene

I think a lot of younger couples would learn a lot from this movie.
Is that Ogham on the first girl's right forearm? ☘
Love your content.
Jenny was a 304
Asian & B had the worst reaction.
They cut out damn near the entire scene
They probably got hit with really bad copyright issues
Forrest once said, "Momma always said: NEVER take a sniveling SKANK to the movies."
WOW she walked all over him his whole life, even after her passing.
What a piece of work.
You're just full of hate. Unconditional at that.😊
@@rcpsammy7186And you're just naive, hopelessly so at that. 😊
Emotional intelligence of a potato. 🥔

She died of AIDS, for those who were asking...
So Forrest Jr. is HIV positive then?
everyone has AIDS! If you get that reference.
No she died of hepatitis C, as was stated by Winston Groom, the author of the novel

She died up hep c
He shouldn't be crying over jenny. She was a horrible person.
So she only gave him a chance after he became rich & successful & she was a ran through drug addict with a deadly STD
