It's a beautiful movie....a sweeping grand movie. I am a korean american who mostly grew up cynical in the US. I hated most things that were Korean including K Dramas cause I thought they were cheesy. But this movie was just so well done. I cried my eyes out...and am grateful no one was around to watch me. An absolutely great movie. As I am more American than Korean, I wish they could make movies like this in the US, but I mostly doubt it because it takes a combination of self sacrifice and love to bring out the kind of emotions as in this movie. A lot of US movies can have the love part but it is hard to get the self sacrifice right because the sacrifice the leading male shows in this movie would be considered foolish or ridiculous by American standards. It just would be hard to accept.
