This game came out not too long after my mother passed. My best friend at the time bought it for me and we played it together. My first love and I played it together. This game has always been apart of my life and always will be. Fable 2 I love you.
In 2015 a good friend of mine took his own life. At the time, I used to listen to videogame soundtracks while I worked. Bowerlake was a particular favourite to help me get things done with a clear head. Now, it reminds me of saying goodbye. The tone of the song has changed from one of "finding a new area to explore" to "being at peace with what has been" But its still just as beautiful as it was the first time I heard it. Thank you Russell Shaw.
I’ve relied on ‘Summer Fields’ throughout my childhood, tweens, teenage years, and even young adulthood. I’ve roughly got about 100k+ plays alone on it - I leave it playing on repeat or in combination with ‘Bowerlake.’ It’s tremendously therapeutic, nostalgic yet, powerful. Especially, right on that ‘lift’ in dynamics starting at 3:00 where the ensemble just moves like a beautiful wave moving towards the shore or wind moving all the trees in a forest and then back to a peaceful and relaxing calm. There has to be more of these. If not, I hope composers of today and tomorrow at least make it a bucket list goal to create a piece of a similar style and caliber.
Yes, there are more of these! To me Summer Fields has a sort of sister piece in Tomb Raider AOD's main theme. Start at 1:25 th-cam.com/video/41aq7BR_5nY/w-d-xo.html and compare to Summer Fields starting at 2:39 to the end (including your favorite part). Both pieces create a similarly hopeful, contemplative mood using similar tempo and instruments (flutes, horns, harp) and were released only a year apart with their respective video games.
I remember come end game of Fable II, I just used to stand up top of Hero Hill and just look into the distance. Being from Ireland, this really resonates with me and could happily sit at Lough Neagh for hours with this on loop.
@@Whocares158love both, but first fable has a lot more soul to it, it sticks with you after 20 years and feels as magical as the first time each time you listen to it.
It's the only time a game gave me a lasting (real) emotional Response... Breaking through the trees as the violin fell silent, and the Flute/bagpipes (?)...... Still think about it
Such amazing music, words can't describe it... It's so powerful. I close my eyes and imagine myself in an open prairie, with a soft wind blowing through the grasses.
I love listening to these songs, but specifically this video because of the order you've placed them in! I'm happy and sad, man I miss the good days.. but I'm glad to have had them!
narlycharley yup for sure now don't get me wrong Its beautiful up here in the winter but when it get's down to minus 30+(thats in celsius not sure how that equals to in farrenheight but trust me its freezing lol) it get hard to do anything productive.
I have played this game for many years on the Xbox 360 and just about 7 or 8 months ago I go it again because I missed all the good old days so I have been playing it even today I still have it downloaded on the Xbox and it still works and like the music is so beautiful for this game and I remember when week I got it again I went up to a top of a mountain that was getting to go foggy but it was a warm day I was sitting up there and this mountain it really high up and I was listening to Fable 2 soundtrack while up there and it was so peaceful and I was drawing but I just love this game so much it’s way better then fortnite or black ops or gta
I’d leave the title screen in the game up for hours just to hear this song. I believe it was the only part where the songs played in the game. It was a long time ago. But then last year something made think about this melody. Didn’t know the title just that it was in fable. A warm song that made you think of the forest in summer and what mysteries it holds...only fantasy heads know what I mean.
Even after all these years, I can't help but be a little paranoid that at any given moment some random NPC will shout "THAT'S MY MAN!" to interrupt the peace and quiet... >_
Fable was the best! My personal favorite was Fable Lost Chapters because of all the spells you can cast. I love how the makers expanded the maps in fable 2 & 3 but they canceled off most of the spells you can cast. The music is astounding! 👌
Cuando jugaba Fable, recuerdo haber tenidos sueños sobre sus hermosos campos, sus lugares mágicos y la tristeza que sentía al despertar y ver que no podía estar allí
I so love this game franchise! Though Fable 3 was a bit too easy. I wanted to play some more of Fable: The Lost Chapters, but after I got the Windows 10 upgrade, it won't play anymore. :'( I'm gonna buy Fable Anniversary to see if that will work. Though I'll have to save up money for the game and the DLC.
+MrWildChupacabra There is no fix for Fable TLC right now. I still can't get it to work. I tried Compatibility mode and "Run as Administrator" and it still does not work. It seems I'll have no choice but to get Fable Anniversary.
Does anyone know where I could find more music like this? There is no defined genre that offers anything in the way of this nostalgic Celtic/Briton/fantasy sound, other than some hobbit themed music out of LOTR and a few odds and ends here and there. All I want is some premium easy music like this, pipes, flutes harps, strings and the occasional beautiful female vocals. I suppose its rarity is what makes it so rewarding to hear. Cheers.
DRL CA Thomas Newman is another great composer, his stuff doesn’t feel as light hearted but still beautiful. I love ho work on the White Oleander movie. Haunting.
Ah yes, the three seasons. Summer, Autumn and Bowerlake
XD

Fable 2 I love you.
For a game that can be fairly dark, Fable sure had beautiful moments.
Can't truly appreciate one without the other to provide contrast ;)
Wanna know how dark Fable can get? The first one was supposed to start when your character finds a dog nailed to their dog
@@muskatDR huh..... what ?

Wish I could hear these soundtracks being played live

I’m a man of few words, however, I hope you are doing well, mate. I’m sorry
I’ve drifted far away and into beauty with this many times.
I keep coming back too
These tracks just perfectly encapsules my memories of Summers spent playing with my cousins in the country side, exploring and play fighting.
I often return to these tunes... So good.

Maybe Jeremy Soule - “Eye of the Storm” would another to evoke such feelings?

I think summer fields is the best one
AHHHHHHHH

Really hope Russel Shaw comes back for the new Fable, his sound is just perfect for it.
Agree. =)
I agree only if he do it like the first fable, I didn’t like what he did in fable 2 and 3
