I've seen a few of these things already, but they don't seem quite right. so i made my own.
with and without main melody available in this video.
also i think i have made this idea as far back as a year or two ago. the new version of the lmms file incentivized me to redo it so it will work better.

@@ihaetschool3361 it's ambiguous, most likely on purpose. for the most part, the original song is meant to give off that ionian/major energy, but there are aspects of it that aren't in the ionian mode. doing a bit of digging i've seen some people agree it's B major OR G# minor, depending on the context.
tbh though i'm too lazy to dissect it myself, so i'ma just believe what other people say :b

It almost sounds more sinister for some reason. It has the same effect as swapping it into Minor key.
I have a theory for this now actually.
I heard somewhere that minor chords that go beyond the notes in a key of a song makes it sound more minor (and vise versa), if that makes sense. Perhaps the minor chords are doing something weird here.
It may also be A#/Bb, which is considered to be the darkest key. Even in Major it still sounds sad or depressing
I think it's that the song is already in major, so this brings it into Phrygian minor.

Hi guys, i studying about the music and just wanted a explanation about the "keys" and what they influence in a song ( I already searched in Internet but is not enough, personal experiences are the best way to learn something ;) )
i do music, and i barely know music theory, however i can still provide an answer. its really just a series of notes that sound good together. the key can influence the vibe and theme of the song, this remix itself being an example, even though its not really a perfect example as the original song WAS in major key
@@alex_does_stuff9199 no, it's minor all the way through, the bassline is a dead giveaway. a VI-VII-i-v progression like that is a very often-used progression for minor key songs

There is one main key which is decomposed in 7 modes
Ionian is the major key
Let's take C major for example
if you take the C major scale, you have all the white keys starting from C, the Dorian scale is the same but starting from D, phrygian is from E, etc...
Just like minor is a mode (Aeolian, because A minor is also C major), they all have different moods, Ionian is happy, Dorian is smooth and fits with phrygian and minor scales, Phrygian is exotic and dark, Lydian is "floaty" and kind of major, mixolydian is upbeat and also major, aeolian is minor, Locrian is bad
The difference between the modes is how you treat the root key, the main difference between Cmaj and Ddor is D
In the video, you have a song in major and minor getting in minor, which from what I understood got the music in Phrygian which is far from major
