Not really, those are just conventions, like that the fact that we consider Europe a continent in most countries (but not all countries). There is no clear definition of a continent, those are entities partly influenced by politics, partly by geography. It's a lot more arbitrary than most people think. The fact is, we say Australia is a continent because some people decided it would be, way before we knew about tectonic plates (in the 60s !!!).
man... when i see moments like this i just sometimes forget how strong mouse really is, just the thought of how hard she has it daily and her whole life while still powering through with a smile like honestly what a trooper! All the hardship she's faced constantly being reminded of the restrictions compared to other people just really sad... That mouse doesn't have a nose 😔
Continents have no scientific definition anyway. Only cultural. Different countries divide the continents differently. We learned only about the continent America in school. No north/south. At first we didn't learn that Antarctica is a continent, but in later classes we did. Some people also count Europe and Asia as one continent: Eurasia.
@@bloody_albatross Why do you think the caribbeans are distinguished from the rest of the americas? California is part of the US which is mainly on the north american plate.
@@williamstar7225 California is on the pacific plate, though. Look up a map of continental plates. I count 16 continental plates, yet there are only 5 to 7 continents.
don't miss this:

an island becomes a continent the moment it has its own tectonic plate instead of belonging to a larger landmass

Bruh, continent are defined by their tectonic plates, it has nothing to do with culture.
@williamstar7225 Then we would have many more continents. California would be on a different continent for example.

even the borders of europe differ from definition to definition, it is completely arbitrary
