    My take away from this is HHH has incredible resilience and pain threshold. To continue on so many matches after so many things going wrong is amazing. He truly deserves his current role of head of creative as his passion for the business is unmatched.

      @@GLimJamm Yes. The abuse of pain killers in pro wrestling has been rampant for decades. It seems like it's impossible to know anything about pro wrestling and NOT know about this. Brock, Rey, Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, Kurt Angle all got in deep with them. WWE has been notorious for how hard it works its wrestlers, traveling 300+ days a year and doing constant shows while injuries add up without enough time to rehab them. So how do you get through it? Pills. Some pills lead to more pills lead to dependency and addiction and bigger problems. It's very likely that any given WWE wrestler you watched had some amount of opioid still in their system.

      His reign of terror was so. But it was a throw back to pro wrestling years where they would have long title reigns, building to popularity/hatred, for the next guy to really be put over when he finally wins.
      For example, Benoit ended the reign of terror, in one of the best title wins, ever.

    With a video like this, of course, Triple H is on the thumbnail.
    Whether you like Hunter or not, you have to give him credit for continuing matches after he injured his quad.

      The part that impressed me the most is Triple H carrying out the spot where he was put into the walls of Jericho on the announce table.
      When Triple H told Jericho to do it Chris was shocked that he wanted to carry the spot. It takes a special person to be in excruciating pain already and then allows himself to be in even more pain just to carry out the match.

    After the Goldberg Undertaker nightmare, Undertaker’s main work was against AJ styles, primarily because it’s known throughout the business that he can carry a match with an injured/compromised opponent and make it look awesome. In a TNA match Chris Daniels dislocated his shoulder and Styles took over making Daniels look completely dominant (as planned) in another match, Samoa Joe was briefly knocked out and lost his awareness of where he was. AJ made it look like it was a hard, dominant Joe victory. There are other incidents as well, where he kept an opponent outside the ring on a tag team match, to cover their injury and flipped it so instead of them doing the finish their partner did.

    • @hulkslayer626
      @hulkslayer626 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      While that may account for some of it, I think for most, it was the passion and dedication to the craft. The true Wrestlers, the ones who live and breathe it, who have it in their bones, would rather make an injury 4 times worse than give up on the match. Endings can be changed on the fly, new storyline can be implemented for the coming months while they are out. But you finish the match. Is it old school outdated thinking? Yes. But that's also where the passion, determination and respect for the craft comes from... those that came before you. Those that lived their life in kayfabe. Those that did the job as long as they were physically able to. And to the younger guys, if those that came before, especially Vince himself, is watching you... you don't want to disappoint him. You don't want to let yourself down in front of him.

    I 1000% agree on Kurt Angle/Shane McMahon as well as JBL and Eddie Guerrero... those ones were SCARY!
    Honorable mentions are not as brutal but still yikes (wrestling is brutal but sometimes ya need time out!)
    Kairi Sane/Asuka vs Becky Lynch/Charlotte should had also been stopped since Charlotte concussed Kairi and had gotten a penalty because its atrocious from wrestler to injure talent on purpose. Becky was MVP for protecting Kairi. Conclusions - shorten careers and being sloppy is not cute
    Nia/Kairi Sane as well LOW-KEY because yes Nia is ''Powerhouse' but she was super careless esp. when she bucklebombed/stairs (if you dont know how to do the move... dont fn do it unless you perfect it) as well as Bayley match up ... even I know you have to protect your opponent... and if Piper Niven can protect smaller talent what is Nia's excuse(.. not hating just asking (Accidents happen and she will not be first and only who harms but thus you work together to not make it worse even I know it!)

    Goldberg was _never_ in his prime as a wrestler! He was little more than window-dressing. A perfect example of everything wrong with the business. He looked the part. He spoke the part. The crowd loved him.... He had almost zero in-ring ability with the exception of his Spear. Which he'd botch far too often and concuss himself. Oh, and all those years he was on the scene, he learned almost nothing. Plus, clearly had zero desire to learn and improve his in-ring ability. That match with the Undertaker was going to be a disaster before it even began.
    Goldberg needs to have very short matches, and needs to be in the ring with wrestlers who ARE in their prime. That way, they can hold his hand during the match and make him look good. At that point, Undertaker was incapable of doing that. Want to see what happens when a veteran wrestler has no desire to make Goldberg look good? Take a look at his match against Regal during his WCW days. Goldberg looked like a stumbling fool in that match. That's the real Goldberg.
