My usual route from 2003-2019 was from Legazpi to Matnog then ferry to Alen-Tacloban-Liloan Leyte then Ferry to Lipata Surigao. The food in Bicol is full of heart. Yes the Pancit kinalas is really good. I was able to eat also kinunot (two kinds of meat can be used and this was a sursprise). My stomach fell in love with Kanding-ga which is Bicol bopis. Then there is the creamy goodness of Tinoktok or tinoom or pinangat. Basta my tiyan remembers Unique, delicious food. Must try also the pili fruit. Yun whole fruit boiled then the meat isawsaw sa bagoong. OMG salivating ang bawal sa tander.
I didn't know that the boiled pili flesh can be dipped in bagoong. We used to make a dipping sauce for it with soy sauce, sili and pounded/grated luya. We don't live in Bicol anymore and it's one of the food I miss the most and also my aunt's tinoktok.
My lola from Gubat, Sorsogon and Aunts used to dip the pili fruit meat in bagoong or alamang(whichever was available) and i find it really delicious. I only visit now and again. Still have relatives there.
It may sound cringy to some but wow, Aling Cely's story does differ from your average rags-to-riches story. There's really nothing like receiving God's grace to push your kids' education in times when you have nothing. FEATR's narration also evolves as the episodes come by
It's Pinoy mentality. They think anything good happen comes from the God of the Spaniards. Imagine hearing pre colonial maharlikans thanking Allah and their pagan deities. The Pinoy Christians would cringed at the thought of worshipping other gods from back then. The success of Maharlikans from being the central trade of Asia back then wasn't from the Judeo deity.
I was stationed in Naga for 2 months managing a BPO there, Aling Cely’s Kinalas really hits different. You always feel at home and even on hot and humid days we made it a point to drop by. People like her deserve all the love in the world, she trully is the best.
Neighbor namin c Aling Cely. Sobrang napakabait tlga nya promise. Back when I was in high school and even college days in Ateneo tlgang Aling Cely's kinalas walang iba!
Nakakagutom at the same time nakaka inggit, imagine going around the country to showcase places and their unique food, aside from the dishes that will surely get you drooling I believe what encapsulates the whole experience are the stories of the owners/cooks,the legacies of families being passed down generation to generation and of course, the ever loyal and appreciative folks who seemingly never gets tired of purchasing and consuming their masterpieces. Nanay Cely's story seemed more like a religious testimony reminding us of God's greatness and immediately made tears flow down my cheeks. Her tone and words speak volumes, not an ounce of boastfulness or pride just pure honesty. Para kang kinakamusta at kinekwentuhan ng lola mong binista mo after a looong time. Truly heartwarming! Much respect and appreciation to the ones who made this video possible.
From Naga City po ako. Kahit saang banda merong kinalasan😊. Na miss ko tuloy ang Naga .
The atmosphere is so different with Martin as the host- and I love it. I like all the hosts, I like how they all bring their own personality and vibes to each episode. I really appreciate that variation.
I remember before the pandemic, its a routine na kumain kina Aling Cely's kahit ang init init, there's just something about the feels ng place nila plus the combination of Log-log and Baduya just hits different.
Thank you so much for adding in the English subtitles 🙏 It was so interesting to learn about Kinialas, I've never heard about that Filipino dish before 😯
The kinalas with turon and coke talaga ang combo jan. 💙 Kakagutom tuloy.
The best talaga kinalasan sa diversion or locally known as Enteng's kinalas. My comfort food! Thanks for featuring our city Erwan and team! 😁 Your content keeps on getting better and better!
My home is near Dayangdang, my all timre favorite is Elio's Kinalas. Always a fan of garlicky stuff hehe 3 legends there. Cha kamot, Cha sed and Cho Elio. Ohh I miss you Naga City.
We were in high school back in 2010 fave kinalas spot namin ang Aling Cely's since malapit siya sa mga schools, about 5 mins walk. Aside from the delicacy, Naguenos always come back to their fave local food establishments for their personal relationship to every customers. It is not uncommon here in Naga to name the actual business to its owner, hence Aling Cely's, Cha Kamot...
Kudos to the team... sana wag kayo magsawa sa ginagawa niyoooo. Think Lola Cely is the Lola everyone wants. Yung palagi ka bubusugin di lang tiyan pati utak and puso, plus she's super kind pa.❤️
Now I'm craving for it..I remember my days or rather I say years in naga city it's a staple food for the soul of bicolanos. Me and my friends after drinking till morning then going to dyangdang eat in Cha kamot kinalas with extrang sabaw as always 😁..thank you featr. 👍
Pls try out Pangasinan's "karinderias" (kambingans, bulalohans, kaleskesans, & pigar-pigar) esp those along the highways from Rosales to Sison area. I have specific names in mind. You may also feature the fusion resto "Cuisinero" in Urdaneta city. O, and I love it when aling Cely sat down with u to continue her story, even helping u with the calamansi & sili! Good one!

Take it from an Albayano. 😉

I live in Bicol. Kinalas doesn't have the same awesome flavor and time-consuming preparation of authentic Japanese ramen but kinalas is still a decent meal for a cheap price.
Guys, you should have tried TA BUDDYS KINALAS. Highly recommended kinalas.
I think "upgraded version ng bachoy" is an understatement. Hahaha I'm biased tho. I grew up eating kinalas here in Naga.
You should've tried the famous Kinalas in Pinit, Ocampo.
Along Cell’s story is exactly what I needed to hear rn😭
