And hey, I'm a 52 yo, straight white dude, and I'm not afraid to recognize that Chris was a handsome stud, but he backed up all his good looks with an immense amount of talent, AND he was a good human being, good father, husband, etc. He wasn't perfect by any means, no one is. I got the chance to see Chris Cornell at MSG 2 months before he lost his life. It was an incredible evening, the 25th anniversary of the Temple of the Dog album. He did every song from start to finish and it was incredible. 8 weeks later he was dead. Damn near broke me and I think about it often. He was very special. His daughter did a fitting tribute and so did Serj from SOAD playing along with Tom Morello from Rage. Everyone loved and respected Chris and the world was a little less beautiful the day he died.
