- HELLO FRIENDS & FAMILY! Thanks for viewing a short video by Norm this time! He's been wanting to make a video with some old photos and movies to have for himself to enjoy, but I talked him in to letting me get involved to share it with you all. It's his most exciting purchase ever made--A BEAUTIFUL PONTOON BOAT by SOUTH BAY back in 2009! We enjoyed it at the family lake home on Nisswa Lake, (Nisswa, Minnesota) until 2013 when the lake home was sold. After that, there were fun boat rides around the Lake Minnetonka area until he decided to sell the pontoon to a neighbor in 2015. He misses it very much, but no real future plans to buy another one that big. He still wants a lake home, but that's not practical now either. So thanks again for joining the two of us on the Gull Lake Chain for a short cruise and then a tour of the family lake home through more old photos!

Thanks for the tour. My best friend's dad built a cabin on Piedmont Lake in Ohio. My mom and I were invited every summer to spend the weekend. They had a wooden motor boat at first, then bought a pontoon. Fun times.

Fabulous boat Norm! Peggy your camera work is perfect. Great shots and I got teary-eyed when you showed your family home. I used to go visit my family home after I grew up and my parents were not with me anymore. Good times. This was a great video!

How lucky to have that beautiful house on the lake to visit. Too bad Mom never saw it. She died young I think. The boat is wonderful like a floating sofa. Such gorgeous scenery and calm lake. What a great way to spend your time. Good idea to get that boat. I have never seen one. It is pretty special.

Hey Norm, Thanks for the tour of the Gull Lake Chain. It is beautiful! You have to cherish those memories. Can you actually go all of the way from Nisswa Lake to Gull Lake through the channels without a problem? I would love to try it…we have a 24 ft tritoon with a 150 hp …. Assume we’d have to trim it almost all of the way up, but would we be able to make it all of the way? 😅
Hi friend, thanks for watching the video and writing your question about the chain of lakes. In 70 years of boating up there, I've never hit the bottom yet. You'll have no problem getting all the way. It's beautiful up there. Have fun. Sounds like you have a beautiful boat. I always had speedboats, and when I decided to get a pontoon, everyone poo-poo'd it. After their first ride, they loved it. Norm
Oh, one more thing. In lower Gull Lake, there is a rock pile in the middle of the lake, you'll want to go around it! It's well marked. Have lunch/dinner at Bar Harbor on upper Gull or Lost Lake Lodge on the Gull Lake narrows. There's public parking for boats at each place. Be safe and God bless

Hi Nancy! There is a lot about Anderson's on the web. Very easy to find articles and photos. He's a multi billionaire now. Homes all over the world and yacht. His father had owned Anderson Plumbing and Heating in St.Paul. He was a West Point grad and married a Miss Minnesota. You'll find lots of beautiful photos of this gorgeous estate here and others.
