      As a fellow Hachi owner, 4AGZE powered 1985 coupe GT-S, I can attest that your description matches most 86 drivers worth watching. The car is so light & with the solid rear end you really have to throw the car into a corner to get what newer IRS platforms get with alil flick and a clutch kick lol. One of the reasons I have been contemplating doing a BEAMS 3S-GE swap. It'll pretty much equal my built 4AGZE in factory form and uses the Altezza J160 6 speed trans. But at the same time the 86 puts a much larger smile on my face than much more powerful vehicles I've owned, it's just a fun car.

      once you own and drive the car for number of years, its like your own body and you know how it behaves and where it goes when you drive it like crazy. Ive had my wrx for over 7 years and i know how to throw it around with no problems especially in small tight areas like the track here.

      @@oli1658 lol, at least you have a whip. I love my 86, but to be honest, I'm a rotary guy at heart. I have built 3 13b & 1 20b powered 1st gen MX-5's since '08. My current project is a rotary powered Exocet, exomotive.com/exocet/ it will be powered by a PAC Performance billet 13b www.pacperformance.com.au/billet-by-pac . Should be about 1500 pounds and make around 570-620 flywheel HP depending on boost settings. Alil conservative for the billet powerplant but I want the engine to survive as well as thrive. Power to weight ratio is gonna be off the charts LMAO.

    This is proper drifting to me. Not about boring smooth lines following what some judges have told you to do and not being allowed to make any errors, but proper rally style, going just as fast and as hard as you can go and pushing pushing pushing the limit and beyond.

    • @optionrush5050

      Oh boy oh boy there’s a difference between speed drifting and style drifting. I agree that drifting nowadays is pretty bad but back in the 90s and 2000s drift style was at its peak. Now saying this drifting is “proper drifting” is going against the entire reason why drifting became about style. And if we are looking at this type of driving from a realistic perspective a lot of good drivers wouldn’t want to race someone that sends it like he’s about to crash because it puts danger to them. And if you wanna go for speed this style of driving will just hinder you. Up to you if you wanna take up on this info

    • @optionrush5050
      @optionrush5050 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Now now don’t hate on ebrake rips, there’s a good reason even pro drifters use ebrake, 1. It’s a method that’s guaranteed to give the chasing a feeling of security because he’s gonna now how much he’s braking everytime, 2. You can send some real sick slides because the instant amount of force the ebrake gives transfers the weight more aggressively and depending on your tune you can really kick the car to the outside and a bit extra with brakes applied. 3. It’s one of the safest bets to re-stabilizing your car so even if you’re mid train you make a small error just a tap is good enough to pull thru while keeping momentum. runningfree86 is a speed drifter/powerslide driver, while he may not use ebrake his style is really high maintenance, wouldn’t be surprised on how many loose clutches he’s been through. You can admire is iron balls all you want but eventually there’s that one dude that takes advantage of low torque or just has better technique in general, not gonna get too deep cuz it gets complicated but when you use ebrake it really gives the mood of “Yea we sliding now” and it gives confidence to other drivers, The leader has to take in consideration for the people behind him and adjust so everyone can have clean tandems with little stress meaning they can focus more on their driving while having a sense of security in the leader subconsciously or consciously. You can even use ebrake to your advantage on some rally shit. Point is don’t hate on ebrake users it makes you look like a complete idiot to drivers, do your thing tho brake and clutch has its own charm too

      It's a dog leg gearbox. It was designed so 1st is where 2nd would be and 2nd is where 3rd would be and so on. Because that way racing drivers would find it easier to get 2nd and 3rd cause they where most commonly used. So instead of up and right it was down to select 3rd. So that's why his gears look weird lol
