I'm just not sure. I've not tried either of those. Sorry I can't be of more help!

Did you try cleaning and oiling the valves?

I did--it just felt like the stuck valves weren't quite in round. The metal shim between the valve and the plastic casing may have just had a flat spot on them.

Mine works just fine. Like every valve instrument, the valves always requires a little break-in.

Thanks for the comment! Even though my valve was sticky, it did have a nice sound! I can imagine it would play nicely with smooth valves.

I just did what I do for every new horn. I clean and lube the valves, put each valve through about 50 compression cycles, and then clean and lube the valves again. Then I play velocity studies for about a half an hour. I have owned a P-trumpet, a tromba, a Tiger and a Pamper. I have found that the Kaizer to be the best of the lot. For valve oil I use Ultra-Pure. I have found that even with brass horns mixing oils will cause the valves to gum up. Will this replace my Reynolds Contemporary or my Olds Recording? But will it always be in my rig bouncing around in a gig bag and would I play it at a rehearsal? Definitely. It still doesn't ring like a brass horn.

It looks like the blue horn may no longer be in stock, but I saw this link to the red version for $70: www.amazon.com/Kaizer-Mouthpiece-Practice-Instrument-PLY-TRP-1000RD/dp/B07BYXZNBL/ref=dp_prsubs_1?pd_rd_w=ML1e5&content-id=amzn1.sym.db26482d-f2e6-4f69-a20a-6ff6cd9fa602&pf_rd_p=db26482d-f2e6-4f69-a20a-6ff6cd9fa602&pf_rd_r=AXKC6HPNT4HFNXFMGBC9&pd_rd_wg=F9tg7&pd_rd_r=3b0a47e9-d585-4453-baaa-93b76ebb120c&pd_rd_i=B07BYXZNBL&psc=1

My Band Teacher uses it without the mouthpeice it comes with he uses another mouthpeice

Nice! Using the stock (plastic) mouthpiece didn't appeal to me at all, so I didn't spend much time trying it. Have the valves on your band teacher's trumpet worked fairly well?

Sounds considerably better than the PAMPET

Yes--I was really disappointed about the valve problem because I did think it played much better than did the PAMPET. The Kaizer is a significant improvement! Thanks for the comment!
