Here are two of the very best Scottish entertainers whom I was previlaged to meet and know,of course there are many many more besides ive met while travelling the roads round Europe all those years ago when we were touring with our own band at the time an Irish Band and again of course playing our music singing our songs and lots of stories too, anyway we would nearly always meet up the lads like Ian and Hamish at Festivals and odd gig here and there sure they were both lovely people as we say (salt of the earth), we'd spend most of the nights after the gigs well like most of the Celts do, as having a few lemonades having a bit of a laugh??? way into the night sharing stories songs loads of jokes too, they were great times ill never forget, {May we all someday meet Again}
Wunderbar!!! Ich hätte nicht geglaubt, von den beiden noch einmal eine Live-Aufnahme sehen zu dürfen! Ich durfte in den späten 70ern die beiden während eines Auftritts in Würzburg/D kennenlernen und hatte das große Glück, sie für Auftritte in unserem Jugendzentrum zu engangieren. Da unsere finanziellen Mittel sehr begrenzt waren - an eine Übernachtung im Hotel nicht zu denken! - beherbergten wir sie bei uns zuhause. Ich werde nie die Stunden vergessen, die wir an unserem Küchentisch verbrachten ... Iain unermüdlich, noch ein paar Lieder zu spielen und Hamish mit lustigen Anekdoten aus seinem Leben.... Ein Jahr später war ich vier Wochen lang mit Rucksack in Schottland unterwegs. Iain hatte mich eingeladen, und so durfte ich eine Woche bei ihm und seiner Familie verbringen. Unvergesslich... seufz
Thats a great story. I met Ian in Denmark where we had breakfast together. He gave me a cassette to play in my car. I had never heard of him and he joined me at my breakfast and we talked for a couple of hours. When I heard the tape I was impressed by his lovely voice!!

Iain used to come and sing at my high school in Wilmington, DE. A few of my buddies went out and saw him at a church basement show in 1998 or 99, which ended up being his final show in the United States. I've always loved him and his music, and it's nice to find one of the few pieces of video of him on TH-cam. Thanks for posting.
