Besides Nightwish, the rabbit hole Floor Jansen created is also a deep one. She is considered the best and most versatile female singer of our time. As I am a Flooraholic here is some background information on our Dutch Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen. She joined the band 'After Forever' in 1997 at the age of 17. My favourite song is 'Energize Me'. They made a very beautiful music video out of this. After Forever disbanded in 2009 and Floor started her own band 'Revamp' from scratch. Here she experimented with different vocal styles within one song, such as from full operatic to serious growls in seconds. The songs 'Disdain' and 'Wild Card' are good examples. September 2012 came the call from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the American Tour as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist (there is a documentary made of this world tour ('Please learn the setlist in 48 hours'). As you know the lyrics of the songs of Nightwish are very poetic and the music as a whole is challenging, but Floor pulled it off and she stayed for the whole world tour, culminating in the iconic Wacken 2013 Open Air festival. It was obvious that the combination Nightwish and Floor Jansen was made in Walhalla, so she became a permanent member of the band in 2013 as the relationship with Annette and the band was strained even before she became ill. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp' for a couple of years, but it became clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so Revamp disbanded in 2016. Floor did a side project called 'Northward' where she dived in the Hard Rock scene. The song 'While Love Died' is a must see. Her stunning performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' gave her at last some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. There are numerous guest appearances with other bands to find on TH-cam. To see how to get a crowd of metalheads slienced and in awe, watch her featuring with the band 'Epica' and the song 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa'. And to see her in full opera mode watch her rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from Puccini. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor discovered TH-cam in the last year and uploaded many interesting videos on her channel. Mindblowing covers, chats with her idols and other singers, vocal masterclasses and so much more. Her 'Fan Friday' videos are hilarious. She even made a video reacting to herself performing the song 'Ghost Love Score' at Wacken. On stage Floor is badass, but as she is a high sensitive person, peace and quiet is as important for her. Living by the woods in Sweden with her husband Hannes Van Dahl (drummer of the band 'Sabaton'); daughter Freja (just turned 4 years last month); a horse and pony; a dog and 3 cats, she found this.
Perfect, the only thing that I have to ad is that if you watch "beste zangers 2019", look for the versions with subtitles from "Jenniezelf", the little bit of talking before and after the performance makes such a big difference. You will hear why they chose a certain song and how the others reacted to it.

Nightwish have moved up another level as far as live performances are concerned since Floor joined. They always seem so happy on stage. Try " I Want My Tears Back" at Buenos Aires 2018 which includes multi instrumentalist Troy Dinockley and so much fun and audience participation.
A day without Nightwish is not a good day for me. 🤟🤟🤟 Yeah Marko left, we all hope for his return, it was nothing about the band. He was having issues with the industry, and some depression. He has not said forever yet, and we gonna have a fill in for the current tour.

Name is Marco ....near as we can figure from his announcement is that he is sick to death of the industry leaching all the profits and wanting creative control. He mentioned specifically how in the way they were between the artist and the fans .....he is just done. And I am pretty sure the rest of the band respects that and him for it.
Nice reaction. Marco has retired - he is 55 years old after all, and was getting annoyed by what he sees as the exploitation of the artists who actually make and deliver the music. There isn't any bad blood with the band and after 20 years with Nightwish everyone wishes him well. I still live in a tiny hope that after a while he might want to still be involved but if not, he will always be a legend in my eyes.
"What's God if not the spark that started life" is a nice line, but it is obsolete and is only in the song because it is in the song. Nightwish today is a secular band. I mean I won't preclude that Tuomas is still some sort of deist (believes in a dispassionate "big bang God" or "law of physics God"), but I think it's unlikely; the band has published two anti-religious songs since, with a few extra jabs here and there, Tuomas and Troy have come out as "secular", Marko as "agnostic" and Floor as explicitly atheist.
By saying that god is just the spark that started life they deny god as an almighty creator, delegating him to just a natural occurrence,nothing mythical. And it fits in their views on religion.
