Poor parrots! They are so frightened. The trainer use sticks as he is afraid of revenge.

+Bill Borden I've worked in an aviary for 8 years now, those birds are defiantly frightened and by the sheer size of them they appear to be starved to preform, their feathers are so badly damaged!

There are good trained parrot acts -- this isn't one of them. The birds are obviously really stressed. Their feathers are disheveled, their reaction times are slow, and they're flapping a lot. On top of that, they're tense and looking around a lot; that flat-feathered, spread-winged posture in the macaws is a sign of stress and fear.
If you want to support a trained-parrot act, watch Norman Barrett's videos (Zippo's Circus) -- his budgies are very well-cared for and happy. Don't support this.

Training is good for an animals mental health as it keeps them sharp and gives them something to do however health comes first, if an animal is uncomfortable or in pain they should not perform

I just came from watching Zippos Circus and the budgie show, and THAT was a good show... But THIS!?
I dont even know where to begin.. Instead of turning this into an essay.. Im just gonna make some points
    - the macaws' feathers are all plucked and messy which is a clear sign of distress axiety and stress.
    - that green macaw looked SO TIRED during the tricks
    - i almost cried when the macaws were carrying eachother on the rings.... I could almost IMAGINE how painful that could be..
    - The guy was barley interacting with the birds.. I mean touching them and talking to them. He carried them with rods, almost looking like he didnt want to touch them
    - the blue macaw and the cocatoo looked horrific, like they came out of a horror scene. And they were STILL brought out to act!?!?!?!?
OK, thanks for listening to an old lady rant about burds

2:13 look at those poor birds. The blue and gold macaw has plucked all his once beautiful feathers out and is clearly extremely stressed. The red macaw's tail feathers are also in awful condition and the fact that the ringmaster doesn't even handle them without a metal pole or other object makes it clear that these birds are terrified of humans.

Seeing birds be used for purely entertainment within circuses and performing like this without no bond or connection saddens me. The "ringmaster" didn't touch or handle the birds one bit without that giant metal pole, not to mention the speed, the feather condition of these performing birds is atrocious, and I doubt they're rescues due to the training required for a show like this. Although the tricks were not worthy, the birds being in such poor condition takes away from this whole thing.

Haley Mendez your absolutely wrong, think about the lions and the lion tamers, they whip the big cats if they don't preform. And animals are also starved and bribed with food to preform. Bird pluck when under LOTS of stress or when kept in tiny cages (stress) do your research please.

Oh, I have. It is NEAR IMPOSSIBLE for most birds to recover from plucking. We aren't talking about other circus animals, we are talking about parrots. Birds mentally do not behave like other animals. They are several times smarter than the average animal!

very ignorant. these birds wpuld never perform if they were even the least been neglected. it takes a lot of time, love, and patience to get them to do this. Alot of those birds were rescued and pluvkers. once a bird is a plucker, its almost impossible to get them to stop.

    • @haleymendez6238
      @haleymendez6238 7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

ha, I have NEVER abused any animal in my life. it makes me a troll because. I have opposite views as you do? So be it. You assume but have no hard proof. I have worked with large birds for over 15 years and have seen their behaviors and they do not work for food. Thew work for affection, yes, but not food or fear. Thats absolutely ignorant to assume they are like a normal circus animal. These birds would NOT perform out of fear or hunger, they would either refuse to be around any human, bite, or attempt to fly away. Those birds did not display any type of those behaviors. Plucking is in just some birds, they were likely neglected before, and we're adopted. Plucking is near impossible to work out of a bird. It can happen, but out of experience and research proves that it is highly unlikely to get a bird to stop plucking even with the highest of care. :)

Faceless profiles are always troublemakers that insist with opposing opinions, oftentime rude and crass. I think faceless profiles are run by pussies, cowards scared to show themself. Why don't you go find something you like, and comment positively instead of hiding yourself. These birds are being starved and they have to do tricks to get any food at all. I could care less what you think.
On that note...be well and enjoy your day. Let people be...if you don't like what they say, too f'n bad. Suck it up like an adult.

I was just watching zippos budgie circus they looked SOOOOOOOO and I mean SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much happier and healthier than these birds... they were even running up when it wasnt there turn... but with THESE birds... there feathers are plucked, they looked tired, scared, and they pri ably feel like there being forced to do these tricks.. that isnt good for these birds.. the bird trainer didnt even look like he was enjoying playing with the birds either. He didnt even realy want to touch them.. he was also being realy rough when he holed them. I mean did you see how fast and tough he was moving? I feel SO bad for those birds... those are NOT healthy birds...
    Zippos birds (the healthy birdies)-
They looked so happy and playfull! They had all there feathers, no plucking, and they were all proofed up, cute, and happy! They were running up when it wasnt there turn, and they were having alot of fun!and they NEVER hesitated to get up on the man's finger.

All of those birds have plucked their feathers. Either they are not taken care of properly or abused. They all have fear in their eyes. Shame this could have been a good video if the birds haven't been mistreated one way or another !

As someone who's been preforming with parrots for almost two decades, this sickens me. My birds are very laid back. And are introduced to new situations slowly. If they were comfortable and trained properly, he wouldn't need the sticks. These are very stressed birds.

    • @Greyandgreenfeathers
      @Greyandgreenfeathers 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I agree. It is usually because parrots perform on their own time. In order to get them reliable for a crowd, their diet is aggressively managed. They are working for their food right now and are kept at a technically healthy but low weight. Like a falconer does to hunt his birds, only more aggressive.
Many who train birds (myself included) will withhold some of the diet, meaning the parrot gets breakfast but it isn't all-you-can-eat. Then at dinner time, they are hungry and ready to work for their food. Since parrots are pretty much still wild animals, they absolutely THRIVE on foraging and learning for a meal. It's why they were built with problem solving minds... And I know at least with my bird that she will not eat her food much if it is in a bowl, but will work like crazy for it, pestering me all the time to train her more and more than her hour every night :)
So is food management abuse? No. But if you combine management that is show aggressive with unhealthy treats like peanuts, I imagine your birds start to look like this. Happy? Probably happier than a caged up parrot. Healthy? Not so much.

Exactly. I love with nearly 20 parrots and the poor birds in this show doesn't look like they are in good conditions at all, they looked like they plucked their feather put of stress, unless the birds are rescues then the performer are mistreating his birds. also the show paced way too fast to be entertaining, Norman Barrett's show with his lovely budgies are so much better, his budgies all looked like they enjoy doing the tricks and you can see the bonds between Mr Barrett and his birds.

I don't know who these people are so i'm not going to jump to conclusions, for all I know they are all ex-rescue parrots with mental disturbances that have been given a new lease on life, or, on the other hand they could all be made to perform and kept in small travel cages with nothing to occupy their minds and this is what has become of them. Unless they were already rescue parrots with uncorrectable behaviours what kind of respectable aviaculturalist would present birds in this condition?
The stick isn't an issue for me, parrots like to step onto a solid and sturdy pirch and stick training is number one when properly training parrots.
The video seems old but some of these guys could live a human lifetime. Dislike this video all you can people

I know it seems like the opposite to do, but if it has enough likes, many more people could see the misery and suffering these poor, abused macaws are going through. They've plucked their soiled feathers, and they look so tired and painful. PLEASE, leave a comment and/or like to get this video noticed so something can be done!

I can see that these parrots aren't fed variety of fruits n veggies.
They are plucking their own feathers due to boredom n vitamins deficiency.
They have been suffering with malnutrition also.
Soso sad for these beautiful creatures.

Those poor birds... Obviously it seems he's trained them with the stick which could mean he's hit them with it, then again not sure. But they're also picking out their own feathers which means they're stressed out, sickly and possibly being abused to do this... Poor beebs...

Poor birds😭 used or money never a nice life with a big cage, toys, and attention these parrots are obviously abused they are sad the look in the trainers eyes😢 he only cares about the money people need to remember animals have emotions, feelings, and feel neglect 😭 have some sympathy. Don't support this type of thing give this video a thumbs down and never pay to go u are paying them to abuse the animals. Don't u think they deserve a normal pet life happy and healthy? I'm sure after the show they are abused, crammed in a tiny cage with nothing
for them to keep entertained. See how some are missing feathers? They pick their own feathers when depressed and not happy and when it's extreme do see how unhappy the parrots are they sent even getting like a seed for doing a trick!! Do u not see the abuse in this it's horrid 😭

I just commented the exact same thing ! They all have plucked their feathers and you can see in the birds eyes and reactions they have fear ! If these birds were properly cared for and trained properly then why has he clipped their wings too ! Pathetic when people like this abuse their animals. These birds don't show trust in him.
