I agree as a big LSU fan. One thing, though, is that he took some massive hits that will lead to injuries against NFL linebackers and safeties. He’s gonna have to change that. But yeah his field vision is second to none.
Pennix will be the steal of the draft, and it won't even be close. You have NFL starters that can't throw a 10 yard out accurate. Dude can throw through a key hole.

@@davey5ironYeah I think his mechanics are fine. I played QB...when the guys unnecessarily conk it back and have an abrubt looping motion, that's when it's a problem. Tebow is an example. When your feet aren't set, accuracy is all over the place. McCarthy, Shadeur and others don't have perfect throwing motions either though. I think he's fine there. Where I'm concerned is the injury history and his age. Last yr was his 1st full season making it start to finish..and it took til his super senior yr. He's also gonna be turning 25 as a rookie next yr. Still pretty young for a QB, but that's older than you would like starting day 1. If he was 21-23 without injury concerns, he would def be a top 3-5 pick imo
Atlanta Falcons need to trade away whatever it takes to get to #2 for Jayden or Caleb. If we can’t get one of them then take Penix jr or trade for Fields
As a Bucs fan, I had originally thought we were going to be drafting a QB. And as an Oregon fan, I was hoping for Nix or Penix potentially. Obviously, things are good here with Baker. And thrilled about it. Seems like he may get a contract here. The point is that I started this year thinking we were going to be QB drafting. Happily surprised by Baker finding his groove.
Baker is not the guy for the long haul because the NFC South was absolutely horrible this year. I would say Penix Jr might be the QB for the future of the Buccaneers
I love that Baker found his footing and a team that believes in him. I believe a lot of that has to do with Bobby Canales. He helped Geno find his way with my Seahawks, and perhaps he’s the next QB whisperer. Although OLine and questionable playcalling has a lot to do with Geno’s regression this year, I firmly believe a lot has to do with Canales leaving for Tampa.
I’ll love for the Bucs to get LSU QB. Oline. Someone from a know school. Bucs GM has not done a good job selecting game changers. Especially on the D line He’s missed a lot. I’m not happy if that pick has to be made by solely him.
I love Baker very much but dressing. A quarterback would still be very smart, because quarterback draft is deep so a quarterback in the second or third round even fourth would be ideal for the Buccaneers Baker is not the guy for the long run but don’t get me wrong he’s a great quarterback and I’m very impressed with what he’s done this year, and has every right to be a starting quarterback in the NFL
That's what I was going to say.Why is it astounding? He spends all year studying college football players. It isn't rocket science, judging college football players.@@ashishlakhanpal6443
Ive been saying it since the beginning of the month. Daniels at the very least will be the 2nd QB off the board. He has 55 starts under his belt. That experience is a big deal. Time on task.
News flash: the NFL doesn't value slow learners. If it takes player A 12 starts to look great (Caleb/Drake) and player B needs 40 starts to show flashes (Jayden), then it's pretty obvious player A is better. Now, is that the end of analysis? Depends on how badly your organization needs a QB and whether it is either in the top5 or willing to move into the top5. Point is, 90% of teams would draft Daniels 3rd.
@@denniscarney5249 I bet they wouldn't. You're buying into this fluff about Maye because it's been regurgitated everywhere. You're going to find out in short order Daniels is going to surpass Maye in these make believe "rankings."
I hope my Patriots draft Jayden Daniels. They are 4th in draft order right now so Caleb will be gone so either Daniels or Drake May if Daniels is gone.
JJ McCarthy is pretty much trash. Any GM who takes him in on day 1 can start the countdown clock on his job. I feel like Caleb is QB3 at best. As a Packer fan? I hope the Bears snatch him up.
I get it, this QB class is good but 80% of the content ESPN will put out this draft cycle will be about the QBs. Good god talk about other positions, there is more to the game then one position.
I’m not shocked, but I do really appreciate the love these two gentlemen showed Jayden. I wonder, why do they want to crown Caleb? I’m not throwing stones, I just wonder what leads to certain narratives.

This is a perfect video to show as an example of what a conversation is like between a sober person and person that just snorted up half an 8ball of cocaine with in the past few hours.
This is the most stacked QB class I can remember. And there could have been even more great QBs this draft if it weren't for a couple staying another year in college
If Chicago stays with Fields, the amount of draft capital they can get in return is going to be through the roof, especially if a team falls in love with a particular guy.Pulling that feat off two years in a row is pretty wild. If they're smart with the picks, could set them up for long-term success. For Bears fans sake, I hope they start with the Oline.
@@ericparker163I have no idea why non bears fans are so convinced that the bears are in so much need of a better offensive line. That was only true last year, this year the bears have one of the better lines in the league with the only exception being the center. @@tomjohns4355 I dont watch Bears games but I've seen highlights where he's getting less than two seconds before someone on the D is on him.But if you watch them every week, you would know better than I would.
Does it seem more QB high draft picks end up being busts than other positions? Seems like positions like wide outs offer more consistency in a pick. Hard for me to get excited about any of these high draft pick QBs till I see them play with the grown ups. I think most of them will underperform.
Definitely seems like more QBs are busts. Big risk especially when teams pick a QB like Williams based on some other stats besides W-L. If I was the Bears I'd be seriously looking at Marvin Harrison Jr who could immediately contribute and has potential to be great.
It is because it is a QB driven league. You get a guy like Mahomes or Rodgers and every year you have a shot to win a championship. Not very often will you find a QB with that kind of talent outside of the first round. How good they end up being with a QB has A LOT more to do with things other than just ARM talent & running ability. So those things will get you into the first round, but not guarantee you will be a solid QB in the NFL. For that reason and because of the premium put on the position today you will get GMs to reach on many of these guys and thus will get the higher number of busts at the QB position.
Mel is the ultimate insider when it comes to the Ravens draft. Id like to hear the back story on what happened last year straight out the horses mouth. The way I see it is: DC McDonald was able to put his 2 cents in & get the 'replacements' at LB drafted cuz he didn't want PQ or TB. And the ann was made that they wasn't pickin up a 5th yr option for a guy that is gonna get a max contract. TB was never his cuppa tea & wasn't willing to play his game and that's where he got stigmatized as a troublemaker. Is any of the people waiting in the wings gonna materialize as adequate replacements, Mel? Neither of these guys needed to be replaced Mel_it was the LT all along wasn't it. Id like to know how you weasled your way into an expert at draft analysis Mel. Did Jack Harbaugh pick you too?
Jayden was GPS clocked at 21.86 mph on that run against Florida. In the NFL this year there were only 3 players that were clocked over 21.86, of course Tyreek Hill. Cheater in Miami did it more then twice. Last year Jayden was Clocked 21.66. Hill was Clocked at 22.06 which is insane. At 6’ 4” he may not look like he’s moving fast but he’s coving ground very quickly.
The GPS stuff really favors those 80 yard straight line runs. The daniel jones trip play is one of the fastest speeds a QB has hit in the gps era.@@hatcher2262
Hmm quick question, does Mel and Field remember anything prior to last week? I think VICK is the greatest DUAL THREAT QB in HISTORY! Not Jackson, and NOW WE HAVE 3 that's right THREE GENERATIONAL QB's in this draft, so that makes 5 yes FIVE GENERATIONAL QB's in the SAME GENERATION!

Patriots fan. I would like us to take Jayden Daniels (1.93m) over Caleb Williams. Lamar Jackson is the MVP (again) and that is the blueprint for success. Personally I think Caleb Williams (1.85m) is undersized to play for the Pats in the AFC East. To win the division you have to play well in snow and rain in Foxboro, Buffalo, and New Jersey in the winter.
One of the reasons I don't want the Bears to draft him either. He does not strike me as a guy that can cut it playing in the winter at Soldier Field and Lambeau Field. Before the Vikings and Lions moved indoors, you had to be ready to face some brutal conditions in every city in the old NFC Central.
UGH. They already have a mediocre guy from the ACC. His name is Daniel Jones. The Giants need overachievers not underachievers. Michael Penix is the do over for passing on Josh Allen in the first place.
@@NAT-turners-Revengesaquon and a 2nd would be giving the pick away for what a 1st overall is valued at in todays nfl. Gonna need to add at least another 1st and 3rd. At very least

The only important measure of a QB is what he does for his team. Did he win. This is a failing of the Heisman voters who go for flashy guys who run out of the pocket. Did he win the games doing that? No? NFL quarterbacks need to play like Brady. Stay in the pocket, move with it, read the field, and throw the ball on a rope. He doesn’t need to be another running back. That’s the quickest path to the IR list. Pocket passers with a canon is what does well in the NFL. So who is the best in this draft? PENIX.
Field Yates’ voice is irritating. He sounds like he’s always talking from a teleprompter. He shows no personality, does he ever say anything off the cuff? Even if he did nobody would know since his voice always sounds so scripted LOL
You people know nothing about sport's pennix is amazing. It might look different but all left handed greats looked that way. Lefties that are good drive you crazy ask boxer's baseball player's basketball player's and football coaches
Penix is the best distributor in this class. He just isnt super athletic, Your getting a better Geno Smith with better arm talent but a little less speed. If Penix Falls I think AZ should have him back up Kyler.
27:20 Pratt didn't outduel Caleb Williams lol. Caleb had 5 TD's and threw for 460 yards. Pratt had 2 TD's and threw for 234 yards with a mediocre % percentage
Marvin Harrison Jr. should be #1. QB’s are glorified too much. They are nothing without elite players surrounding them. The system needs to reflect that more.
Michael Penix Jr. is the best QB in college football. He’s the most accurate has the most pocket presence his receivers never broke stride all season. He will have the best career out of this QB class I’m calling this right now. Y’all have been sleeping on him for 2 seasons now. I’m an Oregon fan and he’s ruined our seasons two years consecutively. Every team that passes on him will regret it and if he winds up in San Francisco a lot of scouts should lose their jobs.
5 QB,'s one lotto ticket and one hidden gem. Caleb, Maye, Daniels, Mccarthy , Penix late 1st injury concerns. Travis late because of injury and one other hidden gem.
I agree with you. He has intangible and a laser deep pass. The top two often mentioned had awful games this year. Penix has risen to the occasion and if he beats Michigan (which I hope he does), I want him in Washington.
If he falls to late first round he’s gonna make a lot of teams pay. Don’t forget they thought Josh Rosen was better than Lamar Jackson once upon a time
Bro your Lamar Jack vs 9ers Def analogy was comical, Lamar put up basic avg stats that game, When your QB has 4 ints then i think thats the issue not lamar jack.
Caleb? While talented; Tends to kinda Sh*t the bed against good teams throughout his college career. Plus his teammates seems to be saying he's selfish and all about his ego. That's Not leadership.
I think Jayden Daniels is the BEST QB prospect in this draft. 1 Jayden Daniels.. .. Ravens dominate with Lamar Jackson not because of stats. But because of all the drives he saves and when you only get about 16 a game and you can save 5 of them with sack avoidance. Some compare him to Lamar with the quick twitch... and i see some of that. But the part that is mixed in is his ability to throw the med to deep ball throws with excellent ball placement. While also protecting the football at a high level then he turns into something rare. Is this a guy you run read option and design runs? What is different about him than Lamar that would should have scouts and GM's really really looking hard at this young man >> His ability too throw the back shoulder throw, fades, throwing in the red zone. He may very well be some of the dynamics you get from Lamar in terms of off schedule plays. But also the ability to absorb MORE TD passes in the passing game. Imagine Eric Bienimy getting his hands on this kid. 2 Micheal Penix... if his medical clears he is 2nd best QB in this draft. You draft a QB to over come 3rd and long.. over come 2min drill and end of half.. to capture pressure cooker moments... to excel when everyone in the world is watching. He has done that better than anyone in this class and it MATTERS. NFL arm and will lead a top 5 offense multi years and be in the NFL MVP race .. bank on it. He has clutch plays in big time career and school defining moments repeated ... with NFL throws on top of NFL throws. If his medical is good you race to turn in your card to draft him..... Nobody used the pass catchers against Joe Burrow even tho he had the NFL all pro team first team to throw too in Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase. Nobody uses Quinn Ewers Wideouts against him. I feel like most are simply wrong on Penix Jr. MOST underrated QB prospect this decade!!!! 3 Caleb Williams .. with the right coach that guides him in the direction Steve Young eluded to with Lamar Jacksons progression then i would take Caleb Williams as higher. But If he goes to the bears or pats or Washington or Falcons.. those coaching staffs ..hmm... not sure about. A team has to convince him that winning via the pocket and hero plays are for every down. 4 Drake Maye... disappears in the moment.. 4 and 8 in the last 6 games of last year and this year combined in the most critical moments in the got to have it moments... and we aren't talking about losing to Bama or Georgia or FSU... they got sweeped two years in a row by Georgia Tech and NC State.. and losing to Virgina .... only win the last month of the season is vs Campbell... stark Contrast to Micheal Penix... THIS MATTERS!!!!! 5 Bo Nix... The reason why they lost to Washington... main reason is in those clutch down and distances that forced them into going for it on 4th down.. .they can't "throw themselves out of disadvantages down and distances" on 3rd down... you can bubble screen .. and hurry to the line and catch everyone with their pants down in the NFL as the meat of what you do... you have to be able to drop back in known passing situations and deal ... win vs 3rd and long.. win in 2min drill end of half... overcome penalties or a sack by projecting the passing game down the field... that isn't what he is. Honestly if you are objective Mitchell Tribisky college tape shows more pro traits JJ McCarthy has been hidden in his system. He hasn't really displayed the ability to carry a team or have long stretches of dominates. I see Christian Ponder (more arm strength)... They may not be picked this way. But this is who i think will be good NFL QBs..... I am betting as we approach the draft you will start to hear with the NFL people studying film start to say and i am betting it will start to look like this.
@@mazzi.ozborne I think that both of them are deep ball throwers. And having a pass catcher that can impact the down field passing game via speed or a catch radius size guy would benefit both if you expect them to play at their peak. ... these are conservative ding and dunk QB's .. any team that drafts them needs to embrace the aggressive nature of their games. ... which is a staple of the really good QB's in the NFL. Not afraid to project the passing game down field. Pass catchers don't need to be "wide open" just need to have "position" on a defender.... a coach needs to embrace that. The tight end talent there is a plus. But i think if the Cards draft a QB they should consider adding a size / catch radius pass catcher with speed if possible.
I think my Bears should not pretend that they can know which QB will be best. Trade down once or twice for a massive haul and take the third or fourth QB.
As a Bears fan it would be crazy if they trade the 1st pick to team with the 2nd pick get a haul then trading again for another QB needy team at 3 and get another haul, id do it even if they don't get MHJ. With the haul of picks it would set up the organization for years to come.

@@TonydaGM It isn't the win loss record. It is the moments. In the most critical moments of the season vs "meh" competition he was absent. Good tools and stats. But what about signature moments.. signature drives..clutch in the "GOT TO HAVE IT" moments. I see a lot of Trevor Lawerence, good tools and abilities but can we elevate the team? Can we make key plays in key games... not get swept two years in a row by NC state and Ga tech.. and only win in the last month of the season is vs Campbell. By contrast Micheal Penix Jr made pressure cooker plays in key moments where he made NFL throws ..signature plays.. signature games.. signature moments.. 3rd and 7 vs oregan last year 3 min left on the road down a touch down. And Penix makes a throw to opposite hash vs cover 2 over a first round corner with 18 inches of space IN THAT MOMENT on the road vs number 6 Oregan (Washington opened the season not ranked in the top 50)... This is what i mean. There are so many examples of this. Doing NFL things in key clutch moments when you have to have it or season is over type moments and he repeatedly did it. .. Drake Maye was kinda like "meh" in in moments at the end of the season when you GOT TO HAVE it.. thus men mentioning the 4 and 8 in the last 6 games of 22 and 2023 .... I have watched every snap of his career.. every play not just a highlight.. every false start or incomplete pass.. every snap some all22 and this stuck out glaring issue.
@HaydenFox-yc9un people were complaining that MVP was reduced to just the best QB award.... But now it seems to be the "QB on the best Team award!" I think Lamar is good but his stats are barely top 10
Mel Kiper should be BANNED from talking nonsense every dam year. HE IS ALMOST ALWAYS WRONG ABOUT QBS. Like 90% wrong. Caleb Williams is VERY AND GROSSLY overrated. Case in point Baker Mayfield, who was decent but not as sensational as that made him. Not a No.1 worthy pick. Jayden Daniels is hands down the best QB in college football. He has proven it in a bad Arizona State team that sucked and then in LSU taking over so fast after transferring from a crappy ASU team.
One more thing, you are giving Rattler "credit" for winning 8 games in the SEC, but Nix won 8 games twice, BEAT BAMA, was SEC Offensive Freshman OTY, and you think Nix's Aub days were bad, THAT just proves that you do not watch games you watch highlights.

the biggest x factor with these qbs is Daniels's run ability. Its literally absurd how good he is at scrambling. IMO he should be QB3 and should go pick 5-10
I agree with qb 3 but him over maye to me is crazy. I think I woukd even take maye first. I think his pocket passing is much more translatable to the NFL than jayden and Caleb's off schedule brilliance.

Might get picked apart for arm delivery

He’s missed a lot. I’m not happy if that pick has to be made by solely him.
I love Baker very much but dressing.

@@ericparker163 They need a good Center , that's it. Other positions are quite good. Maybe a developmental Tackle in the second round.
I want Daniels to be a Patriot so bad. I'm setting myself up for disappointment on draft night

the ann was made that they wasn't pickin up a 5th yr option for a guy that is gonna get a max

I could be wrong but Jayden looks more 4.46-4.50 instead of 4.36-4.40. Still very fast for a QB but not that vick, lamar, RG3 type speed.
Not in pure speed, but Daniels has elite elusiveness, to make people miss. That has the potential to be special in the NFL.
definitely. If he can cut down on the big shots he takes he can be a franchise player.@@srtman04

PENIX.
Yates! Have you watched Washington??? Pennix Jr. Makes half the teams in the NFL better TOMORROW. Pick 50... that's probably where you had Lamar 😂😂😂
He is the best at throwing a football, but he has age and injury concerns.
@ultraviolettp3446 Penix isn't a top 3 pick, he is late 1st, major injury risk . maye is a much better QB anyway
If he falls to late first round he’s gonna make a lot of teams pay. Don’t forget they thought Josh Rosen was better than Lamar Jackson once upon a time
Williams, Daniels, and Penix are my top 3 guys.
Maye would probably be 4th below them.
Nix and McCarthy 5th and 6th

Penix Jr WILL GO IN 1st rd! Look at Richardson last year, someone is gonna steal Penix Jr in top 10 WATCH
No more Field Yates. Make it stop! Make it stop!
Honestly if you are objective Mitchell Tribisky college tape shows more pro traits
JJ McCarthy has been hidden in his system.
How do you think Jayden Daniels or Penix jr would look like in Atlanta with a coaching change?
But then the problem is you’re stuck with BUSTIN fields.
