Asherah, Consort Goddess

Asherah is an ancient Canaanite goddess that is mentioned both in the Old Testament and in The Book of Mormon. Recent archeologic evidence has surfaced that this deity was part of the ancient Hebrew tradition, challenging our long held beliefs of how the Israelites worshiped God. This segment explores what has been discovered, as well as the possible connections with The Black Madonna. Grew up Mormon. I giggled at the pronunciation of Lehi and Nephi. I know Mormons hide the beliefs of a heavenly mother. I asked as a child if we had a father in heaven did we have a mother in heaven? The answer was yes, but her identity is heavily guarded by Heavenly Father. FYI~I’m no longer Mormon or religious at all. But this has always stuck with me.
