The way I see the story unfolding in this song is that Mario and Bowser have been fighting for decades, and this will be their final bout as enemies. Mario has done this so many times, and he's tired but knows this has to be done. Bowser is just as tired but driven by his own goals so much that he still is going to try. It's the end of the line, and under the stars, and they're both determined to finally end it all.

While I was playing SMG2, I started singing some of these lyrics absentmindedly! On a side note, I really like how Mario and Bowser have similar lyrics in this song! It really gives the impression that these two might have more in common than either of them are willing to admit. He was the boss at the end of the road, waiting tirelessly for the hero to finally come and challenge him. Can’t lie, while I loved Mario’s voice initially, Bowser’s voice took a bit more time to grow into for this one. Thankfully I realized my mistake: Bowser isn’t meant to sound scary (like Chaos King from DeltaRune), he’s meant to have the same determination/spirit as Mario.
Super Mario galaxy will always be my favourite Mario game. And I know this song isn’t from that game but the inclusion of its version is amazing! Great job and keep it up ❤️
No matter how many times he falls, Bowser will never surrender and will raise once more. For out of all the star children the king of koopas has the determination that will never die. That is why he is so iconic and that´s why we love him. If anyone else here is a Bowser fan like me then I recommend you guys check out Smash King. A song from the very first game I ever played.... now brought to life in amazing form.
This track told me everything about what Bowser was about. He was the boss at the end of the road, waiting tirelessly for the hero to finally come and challenge him. The lyrics in this capture everything in that image from my four year old self's idea of him.
This brought back some amazing memories. Thank you so much for this cover.

Can’t lie, while I loved Mario’s voice initially, Bowser’s voice took a bit more time to grow into for this one. Thankfully I realized my mistake:
Bowser isn’t meant to sound scary (like Chaos King from DeltaRune), he’s meant to have the same determination/spirit as Mario.

No matter how many times he falls, Bowser will never surrender and will raise once more. For out of all the star children the king of koopas has the determination that will never die. That is why he is so iconic and that´s why we love him.
