Guys, DO NOT feed ferrets fruit and vegetables, it can harm them and may kill them. They are carnivores, only give them meat, NOT fruit or veg. And don't put wood shavings in their cage. A ferret is not a rabbit, you need a BIG cage, not a tiny cage. This person knows nothing about ferrets.

Wow this it terrible. I have no idea why people insist on treating them as if they're rabbits or something. They're not rodents, they're mustelidae like weasels, otters and wolverines. They need to be fed on meat, given plenty of mental stimulation and not be kept in a hutch with straw and wood shavings, which can get into their private parts and is very painful!

First of all, ferrets will suffer if you feed them fruits or vegetables. they cant digest plant protein. They are omnivores, and need meat. You need to feed them other stuff like mice and coldwater fish, not just cat food. wood shavings also aren't good for ferrets since they have soft and fragile toe pads, and they can get cut easily. ferrets need to be fed ALOT... they only said once a day. they digest food quicker than other animals. Babies need to be fed every 3-4 hours, juveniles must be fed 6-8 hours and adults need to be fed 2 times a day. please never take advice from videojug, they dont know anything about animal care.
I'm a eat ur Family they're actually very clean but the natural oils on their skin smell. It's not because of bacteria though, it's just the way they smell. Bathing them regularly makes them smell worse.
