Potato Planting XXL | New Holland T8050 (400HP) + Grimme GL860 Compacta planter | Koolen Bergeijk

- Aardappels poten met groot materiaal van Akkerbouwbedrijf Koolen uit Bergeijk. Eerst wordt een pootbed gemaakt met een NH T7.235 met Rabe BlueBird cultivator en NH T8.390 met Amazone Centaur 6001 cultivator. Vervolgens wordt er gepoot met een New Holland T8050 op Tidue Afibios rupsen, Grimme GF 800 frees en acht rijige Grimme GL860 Compacta pootcombinatie. Het pootgoed wordt aangevoerd door een NH TM190 en Fiatagri M160 beide met La Littoralle AMBS18L kippers.
Planting patatoes using New Holland T8050 on Tidue Afibios tracks with Grimme GF 800 Rotary Hiller and Grimme GL860 Compacta 8-row Potato planter. For preparing the land is used an NH T7.235 with Rabe BlueBird cultivator and NH T8.390 met Amazone Centaur 6001 cultivator.
Kartoffeln Pflanzen mit einen New Holland T8050 on Tidue Afibios tracks, Grimme GF 800 Dammfräse und Grimme GL860 Compacta 8-reihige Legemaschine. Einen NH T7.235 mit Rabe BlueBird cultivator und NH T8.390 mit Amazone Centaur 6001 cultivator bereitet das Land.

A very good video of potato planting.we ran our farm using ford/new Holland tractors with a GRIMME planter with a belt feed instead of a cup one,we found that it was more gentile on the potato so there was less bruising when the potato goes into the ground.So you get a better crop with less damage when you lift them.less bruising means more profit .we also cleaned our plater off before we left the field so there was no big lumps of mud and soil dropped on the road.good house keeping,as when you start the next job you don’t have the problems that it can bring as you did not clean your equipment when you left the field..Great planters GRIMME.🤔👍..

Are you from USA? There the laws permit almost infinite width for agricultural machinery, In Europe and other places the normal maximum transport width without special permits is 3 metres/9.9 foot.

Planting is easy. Harvesting,ploughing,cultivating,irrigation are the more difficult job.

In Ireland we use a potato called Kerr Pink they are red-ish in colour .If you peel to many they will not tarnish or turn brown overnight.Perfect for french fries or as we call them chips....

Incredible machinery and incredible videography!! Amazing how neat the rows of planted patatoes look. What kind of potatoes are those? Looks like in the US what we would call an Irish potato or a white potato.
jbmbanter Thank you! I think Irish- or a white potato is an typical US calling as I never heard of them here in Europe. The potato variety what they are planting here is called Innovator and is mainly used for making french fries or chips.
Found this by Google search: "Innovator has a long oval shape with a rough, russet, tan coloured skin and shallow eyes. It has a pale yellow flesh and creamy texture. Great for roasties, baked potatoes or chips."
So with that we in the US would call an Innovator potato a Russet. Irish or white potatoes usually have whiter centers and here are used more often for 'mashed' or whipped potatoes. I do hope you guys eat 'mashed potatoes' because they are great with butter or good beef gravy. :)

They plant inovator Fontana and chalenger only for the fries industrie,like Mc Cain Lamb weston Agristo they do around 300Ha +
Well guys if the Fontana is planted for fries then I bet the McDonald's Restaurant chains buy them for what we call French fries here in the US. Everyone knows that McDonald's has great fries!!!

I've always wondered which potatoes go back to be planted. They're all clones, so no sense in selecting for the best, from this it looks like a lot of them are bruised or broken, maybe unsalable.

They say the company is in The Netherlands, but the tractors have belgian licence plates?
these tractors are rated at 235 hp, with up to 270 at the PTO. Where are you getting 400 hp?
+Alex Veldhuis Hi Alex, the T8050 has standard actually a 325 hp engine, so with a little tweaking 400 is not unrealistic as the same engine, in example the Case 8010 combine, produces 450hp. Regards, Martijn

Just tell me if these guys tweaked theirs, yes or no, thanks. I Understand that this engine, as many are these days, with a range of outputs, but that this tractor as standard comes nowhere near that, as implied. If it is tuned to that output, then it would be handy to state that, is all I am saying.
