The queue of the ride itself was actually kind of decent. It's not Disney levels of theming, but would still fit in with Universal Studios which has a lot of decently themed queues. But the ride? My god, they didn't even put the effort into trying to blend the screens in with the scenery. Like maybe put it in a window or something? Don't just have bare screens hanging out.
Yikes. You basically stop and shoot at mini mobile games on small screens surrounded by backdrops and cheap sets, you can see most of the ride ahead of you from the very beginning, the trackless ride system is virtually useless, the ending was super anti-climactic, no special effects, and the graphics look ridiculous. Even the Ghostblasters ride at Castle Park is better than this crap. Pitiful attempt at a ride that could have been amazing. Universal would do SO much better. I wish Universal would do a Ghostbusters ride.
Universal used to have a Ghostbusters stage show with really impressive special effects I guess they lost the theme park rights to Ghostbusters though I have no clue how they ended up at this awful excuse of a theme park

I would have at least expected the screens to blend in with the scenery (or lack thereof) better, or at least squinch (see the behind-the-scenes video for Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man to learn about squinching). What could have been really neat was to have the enemies as interactive Pepper's Ghost illusions, whether practical or digital.
The fact that you see the screens turn off completely before moving on is somewhat saddening. They should at least come up with a sort of idle screen instead of a city street suddenly becoming a gray box
I can honestly say......I've never been more disappointed my first time seeing a ride. The build up with the firehouse, the rooftops and the citiscapes......then that first screen....wtf..... How does this even get made?
Ah, it's like Voyage to the Iron Reef at Knott's Berry Farm. I half expected the theme song from Ghost Blasters at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk was gonna play.

Not quite the classic style containment and LOVE-based treatment of other sentient beings but ok. This ride is still it. YOU ARE EPIC -- this film is much appreciated. Totally stoked to explore Motiongate Dubai and ALL the great things coming to the United Arab Emirates -- soon to be theme park thrill heaven. As a surfer and a Hawaiian that's never skied or snowboarded but can't stand cold, i'm VERY excited for the Still-Wave tech and the snow parks in the desert where i can step outside and immediately find a hot rock and/or soak up some sunshine. I was so genuinely excited as they were walking through the warehouse, and so this would at least be as fun as the Men in Black shooting ride. But this is just so damn disappointingly half-assed! I would have expected this for a rushed tie in ride with the reboot, but you mean to tell me this is "dedicated" to the original?! I looked up this video because I was curious if there was ever a Ghostbusters amusement park ride, because I had an image in my head of the Universal Studios King Kong ride but with Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and I remember thinking how badass that would be! Regardless of whether you're a fan of the Men in Black ride or not at least that ride had physical objects for you to shoot at! This is a glorified mobile app! You're better off just playing the 360/PS3 video game! Akroyd deserves better! Slimer deserves better! Hudson deserves better! Harold Ramis deserves better! I blame Bill Murray for ignoring Ghostbusters 3 til Ramis passed away, thus leaving us with the underwhelming 2016 reboot, so I'm just gonna go with "Venkman deserves better!"
Themepark-wise we only went to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. We concentrated on the water parks, such as Wild Wadi, Atlantis Aquaventure, Al Nasr Leisureland, Yas Waterworld, Dreamland Aquapark and Al Montazah Park Sharjah :)
IMO, an ideal Ghostbusters ride for me would've just been Disney's Haunted Mansion with the Ghostbusters IP. You tour a collection of their greatest fights (movies and cartoons) before Slimer screws up and you race with him to bring them all back into the containment unit. Peter says something witty and Ray commends you at the end or something.
Wow, what a bad dark ride. It doesn't have a story, the car moves very slow and do very large stops in front of a not immersive and big screen. No animatronics, no surprises , I don't even know if you can say that is a interactive ride. I was expecting something that was impressive and was trying to compete with Disney or universal. This can't even be better that a justice league battle for metropolis ride at a six flags park. Really disappointed.
Another moving arcade ride, (typical nowadays) with no special effects! I was expecting the gate-keeper, and key-master to be moving animatronics and a giant marshmallow man animatronic at the end!

Me too. I already love Dubai parks and resorts. And for motiongate's Dreamworks pavilion, as soon as I heard Kung fu panda was going to be one of those Dreamworks franchises in the park I knew I was excited to hear that.

Just like Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. My nieces and nephews dig it but not my cup of tea. You’d think the Dubai park would have more insane rides. They always go bigger there. As far as people complaining about not enough rollercoasters you have to remember it’s a movie/ film park your gonna get more of those type rides a la Transformers, Minions, and the incredibly lame Fast & Furious attraction that’s part of the Hollywood tour. The main reasons I disapprove is it just comes across as cheesy and they spent all that money on those show buildings and technology to put the whole tram on a gamble they could’ve put the money on a ride instead of something that just adds minutes to the tour.
