Thank you, Steven! And yes I recently started marketing myself as a bass-baritone instead of a bass, so I need to change the title of some of my older videos
This makes me miss the old days of singing opera and in madrigals in the late 80s. Oh my goodness, young Sir! Your ability to project your voice and keep the fullness in the sound is mind blowing and appreciated, especially when you grow softer with perfect articulation. Just... Mwah! 😘 Chef's kiss of perfection! 👩🏽🍳🤌🏽💋✨️ Well done! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Hi, I really like your vocals and this piece is so touching. I actually also want to learn this song I first heard it sung by Jan Martinik. Great work it your vocals are really touching
Dang, after all the a cappella covers (& reaction videos) I listened to from you and the Bass Gang, this is something else! Especially since I understand German. Very captivating, well performed, Peter! I don't normally listen to opera, but I was curious, and I was surprised that I actually understood parts of what you were sang (maybe I have to listen to more German Operas to compare). :) And it's always fun to see English native speakers pronounce words with a German "ch" in them 😜
I've never really had a window into the opera world... would love a little more detail in the description as to what character this is, and a little bit of what's going on for them when they sing this for reference. You emote really well, but it's hard to tell sometimes if it's rage, or rather grief, which can look and sound rather similar in this art form. Either way, powerful voice! Love your work with Bass Gang, too :)
Depends on the genre -- for opera, F2 to G4 is what I'm comfortable performing at this point. But for other genres and/or a recording setting, that range can extend way outward in both directions
Not fluently! But we do take language and get trained especially hard in diction as opera singers. Fluency generally comes when we work in Germany over a period of time
Your german pronunciation is awesome..... absolute stunning voice, although I prefer u speaking and singing in English ... anyway u have a fan here in Germany 😏 ....greetings from Munich Germany 😊
It sounds so dark, still beautiful. Thank you Peter❤
Commanding vocals, I respect that range
Thank you!
Didn't understand a word of it, but still enjoyed it very much. Great voice, great everything.
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed :]
Such a sad song! Very emotional performance to match!
Powerful voice and presence.
Ich konnte alles verstehen.
Чудове виконання, потужний яскравий звук! 👍
Wow, the dynamics used for this piece are amazing.
He's a bass baritone is he not .I like a lot of the tones he makes. His resonance and the way he uses his speaking voice. He keeps it musical🙂Bravo

Thank you for sharing. I have to sing this and it helps :)

This way nobody uses this kind of German language. I'm German and find it creepy.
Peter? Could you maybe tell us what some of the operas are, like their stories and the characters? Love how you sound
I like it even better than your performance of "Der Wanderer". Even better to unterstand, it was very clear, and still very emotional! Captivating!!
Wow, this is impressive!

This is not an aria from an opera. It is a German lieder or song from the song cycle Schwanengesang
As a german i have to say your pronunciation was pretty on point
Thank you!
@Peter Barber, please tell me what is your working vocal range?
Depends on the genre -- for opera, F2 to G4 is what I'm comfortable performing at this point. But for other genres and/or a recording setting, that range can extend way outward in both directions
I like your voice
I'm glad :)
2:26 Can I just say I'd be terryfied if someone gave me a look like that!
Bruh I don't know I find him more as a bass rather than a bass baritone.
Nice pronounciation :) I could understand every word. Do you usually speak german?
Not fluently! But we do take language and get trained especially hard in diction as opera singers. Fluency generally comes when we work in Germany over a period of time

Dude ,you are too young to sound old
And...?
