    It's the beginning Jan and I'm on jeju island...zone 9b, but begins to warms up rather late spring early summer and we have a lot of intermittent wind...is it too early? Last year I started a bunch of peppers around Feb and by May, I was still hesitant to transplant them outside and the lows would sometimes drop below 10c and letting them deal with the wind....however, I'm itching to start some new pepper strains I've collected this past fall and winter from traveling!

      I recommend starting seeds no sooner than 6-8 weeks before your intended plant out date. That will be different for everyone. But as long as you cover these fundamentals listed in this video, you should be seeing your plants perform as they did for me in this video. By that 30-45 day mark, they are already flowering and plant out ready. Why? Because we made sure we provided them with optimal indoor conditions. You got this! Let me know how it goes!

Am I correct in thinking the rooter cubes make life as easy as possible for the wild ones and that’s why the wild ones get started in those versus the 3 part mix that the domesticated peppers get started in? Regarding the 3 part mix…is equal parts of each by volume? Many thanks in advance!!

    • @PepperGuru
      @PepperGuru  ปีที่แล้ว

      Precisely. Rooter plugs provide the perfect oxygen to moisture exchange, where as mediums can often dry out or hold too much moisture. As for the starter mix I blend here in this video, I shoot for around 50-70 percent organic matter and then 20-30 percent aerators. I just eye ball it most of the time.
