For anyone looking to do this (especially in a flip), I would suggest attaching the slats to a painted piece of plywood or MDF board instead of directly to the wall and doing it in sections. This way, when you’re eventually sick of this look, you just have to remove panels, instead of dozens of slats, and only have to deal with a few screw holes in the drywall, instead of a hundred or so nail holes.
While I like wood slat and wood details in homes, isnt this in florida? And didnt you remove all the shade from the windows? I dont know if black was a well thought out choice here. These people are going to roast between all of the open windows, concrete, and this. It doesnt need anymore warmth.
I've got the same look in my grandson's bedroom...but with wallpaper. Very realistic. Very nice. Very cheap...it cost me a tenner! When we're wanting to change it, we'll remove wallpaper and either re-wallpaper or paint the wall. Unfortunately when you tire of this, you'll probably have to re-skim/plaster your wall
I'm about as uninspired by slatted wood as I was shiplap. I love wall molding, but the new take is weird esp when the room doesn't have crown molding...
I hope y’all kept that old ceiling fixture. I get that it wouldn’t have worked for the room but man it was so beautiful, y’all should definitely reuse it.
Please sell or reuse that lamp - it's cool! Slats are not personally my thing, have a feeling you will tire of it. Having owned home for 30+ years, you go thru lots of changes. We'll see😂❤ - best wishes!
I honestly personally didn’t like the shelf, I love 70s homes but to me the shelf did look unfinished that’s just my opinion though I really love the mural and I do agree it would’ve been nice to have the room completely blank but that’s obviously not what you’re going for and I think the mural is just as nice.
Ugh. I’ve been trying to explain how to do this to my husband (he can’t “visualize” things!) so thank you. I sent it to him. I keep telling him is pretty straightforward 😂😅
It looks very nice, however it would have looked sleek and seamless if you took out the bottom trim and had the wood beams run completely to the floor
I thought this was a video from years ago. Interesting choices.

I liked the old light fixture ...
YES! BRAVO! I love! Love! LOVE! this look!!!! Beautifully done ❤thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you so much!!

Looks great!!
Looks beautiful! Well wishes from Lakeland, Florida❤
Thank you! 😊
I like this type of wall feature. Very pretty
I love how it calls back to the house's history but in a beautifully modern way!
Thanks so much!
You must be a relative or at least paid

My feeling exactly😂❤!
Best way to update your interior is Level 5 the ceilings and walls.
Nice job - looks fab!
I wonder how this compares to buying the premade slat wall panels.
That’ll look very dated in a short time.
Not to mention it will likely be difficult to change… 😬 looks cool for now though.
It looks dated now tbh...
How ?

Unless you are allergic to dust.
You didn’t swap out the outlets, you painted over them 😅😂
Can you show how do you replace the sockets color and also for light change, is it just a matter of connecting existing light wires to the new light?
Yes! This looks so good!!
Beautiful
Dang I had no hope when I saw black wall . But you two did great
So far so good ❤
I really loved the old light fixture.
That is gorgeous
That wall is beautiful
Black? This house was so beautiful until yall came along 😢
I love that wall!
I didn't think I was going to like this at the beginning of the video, but it looks so incredible!!
Good luck dusting that.
Bro, am I the only one who's thinking about how much of a pain it's gonna be to clean the dust on baseboard
You just nailed it to the dry wall? With finish nails? Would that hold?
Did you locate the studs when you nailed the slats to the wall or did you just nail them into the drywall?
It looks like an hotel!!!!
The 1930s renter house we lived in for years had nothing but paneling in it- I think I'm having a panic attack 😂
Why are half of the comments from haters?
Atomic light fixture.
What are you using to press the wood pieces into the wall
You Need a Few Tiles of vintage marble gold mirror
Hello, Congratulations Cool 👍👏👏👏👏
Amazing 😊
Kinda wack tbh
Agreed. They will bow and pull away from the wall with nothing but drywall holding them.
@bassin692 why would it bow?
Love it ❤
You painted a wall black? In Florida???

You should one piece one side at a time then you have a middle one that takes up any extra space inbtwenn
That’s modern, sorry
Have fun dusting that mess.
Our new house has interior stucco! Did you find any issue with putting the slats over stucco?
We didn't have any issues! These walls we're heavily textured and the slats went on just fine 😊
Nononononono NO!!
Great channel - YES. Wood slat wall -NO
Early American 💯🏆
I see this wood stick decoration all over commercial builds and redecorations . I prefer materials to be real .
Great place for spiders to live! So no, just no.
Nice redo!
So you just shot nails into drywall?
Меня поражают низкие потолки- у меня клаустрофобия😮
i will make more place brtween wood
Oh boy .... 😂
Pffff people have just recently gotten rid of the last of the 70s ugly crap , she's putting it back in 🤦♂️
Looks pretty bad. It isn't the 1970s.
Look great actually.
@@thawtianajawnson30 It really doesn't
*VERTICAL*! USE ENGLISH NOT STUPIDITY.😂
It's simple, but when you say wrong words it's really stupid & can cause problems for 😛 people.
Black wall 👎

Very mid century!

It really is, go for it!
UGH WHAT A CLOWN CANT VISUALIZE?!?!?! do it yourself? or can you not do the actual work part
You guys don't understand interior design and have no clue what you're doing. STOP. You're just ruining houses and the internet is laughing at you.
Love this, I would love a reimagining of 70s ideas
