Hey man! Your tutorial helped a lot. However once I sign in, I get an error that translates to "secret compilation error" and I'm not sure what that means. The servers were all red so I'm not sure if it means they are full? Do you know anything about this error and how to get around it?

I would recommend asking in the discord that I provided in the description. I have been busy with life recently and haven't been able to play as much. I may have missed something that's come up and they could probably help. Hope you get it figured out!
Man I was in middle school when my cousin showed me this game never had a computer of my own so I had to play on his now that I'm 24 and have my own computer I want to play this again. My worries are that because its Chinese ill get some malware or a virus of some kind or that ill run into issues with the game and the thought of having to keep up with the translation every week just sounds not fun but man do I actually wanna give this a go now that I'm older and have my own setup. Not sure what to do here tbh
When I launch the game it freezes on loading and the music stops and in task manager it says it's not responding. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix that?
I'm having problems with frame drop rates after the game has been running for a few minutes, which make it impossible to play because I can't see where my character is going, the music and sound FX are stuttering, and when I try to click the menu buttons, it takes forever to open. :( I tried changing some things on the Sinfo file like from FullMemory to ShortMemory. It helped for a while, but the longer the game runs, the laggier it gets. Is there a solution for this? Hoping I can get a reply soon. Love this game! It's basically my childhood. Thanks for the detailed tutorial :)
Hi, this sounds like a memory leak but I'm unsure if the game actually has one. By chance what are you playing on? Laptop, desktop? How much ram do you have etc? I'd recommend joining the discord and asking around there, someone may be able to help more than me, especially since you have tried changing to short memory. Good luck!
@@SpectralHD I am playing on a gaming laptop so I assumed I would be able to run the game without issues. I have 16GB or RAM, Windows 11 OS. Not sure if it has something to do with Windows 11 strictly on 64-bit.. since I was able to run WLO on my older laptops several years ago. But I'll ask around the server as you recommended. @lenexarei1911 could be windows 11. You are correct in thinking you would be able to run it. The tech today is vastly superior to that of when the game was it's prime. Which is actually the problem a lot of the time. Tbh this game is held together but duct tape on the code side really. Newer systems have trouble with it. I used ti play on a laptop a few years ago...didn't know about computers much but the laptop would shut off...I found out it was just overheating...I doubt that's your issue, willing to bet it's OS based and having trouble with that. I am still on 10 myself so not much help to you. Hopefully someone will be able to provide a solution...good luck!

Considering the game is really old, it will probably be even harder to run it after a few more years as Windows keeps upgrading (kinda hate it though ngl), and a possible work-around I can guess is using an emulator. But Idk, I'm merely guessing and trying stuff out until something breaks.. (hopefully not) xD I'm just one of many players wanting to play the game for the nostalgia or something lol. Uhh well by original I'm not sure which version you mean, because go me, my original is the English igg version from like early 2000s lol. Anyway, Rhodes is the newest version. Has a decent player base, and gets new content from time to time....I think the most recent big thing was Monkey rebirth. Hope this helped!
If I recall correctly, it's something to do with the properties...maybe the color? If you can't figure it out from the tutorial I recommend joining the discord and asking there, someone should be able to help
I followed all instructions, and started re playing. However after 6-10min of playing some graphical gliches appear. For instance, face of character and pet disapear (either screen or inventory picture). Items in the inventory instead of showing as what they are are replaced by a black square the only way to know what is it is to select it. Maps in peach black. I have to close the game every 5min to make it work... it is impossible to play like that..
This game is held together by glue and tape basically. It's not great, people have items start to look like other items graphically and such. Restarting usually fixes it, but there isn't much we can do about it honestly.

I got a new pc like 2 months ago and it runs everything with no problems, but idk why wlo, both rhode and the old one, are very very laggy like I'm playing on the first pc ever invented. Do you have any solution?
It's hard to say. Make sure you're running in compatability mode for windows 7. Other than that it could just be lag. It's an old game and no matter how good of a PC you have doesn't mean it'll run perfectly. Even I have issues from time to time.
