    Buying plants without considering whether I have space (or the “right” space as you say) is a huuuuge problem for me! It can explain more than half of the plants I wish I never bought. Sometimes I’m not sure which of plants are taking up space and which ones I really like any more!

    • @FlorenceOzkan
      @FlorenceOzkan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think in that case have a move about and rearrange your plants to see which ones you really love!

    Oxalis Vulcanicola "Sunset Velvet" is the one I regret buying. I bought it during the beginning of my plant journey, and wanted a plant that was orange, so when I saw pictures of it, I immediately fell in love. I already love the foliage shape of oxalis but a orangey one? sunset colors are some of my favourite so I immediately jumped on getting it.... only for it to immediately start dying in my care because there isn't a lot of information for caring for them. It did bounce back and become beautiful again when I moved it, but eventually it just turned green again and also began growing out of it's pot, which I discovered is just part of the plants growth habit to creep along the ground. It also shed its lower leaves like crazy and I have no clue why.
    In essence, I regret buying it for almost all the reasons you've listed. It stopped bringing me joy after becoming kinda ugly and now I'm frustrated that I have this pot taking space that could be used for another plant.

      That's a shame, but at least you've seen it doesn't bring you joy. Can you swap it with anyone?

    Goodness, I would snatch up that Hoya Krimson Queen in a heartbeat. 😍 It’s beautiful! I think it looks great on the trellis your dad made.

    Thanks for the video. I have a few plants that I wish I'd left in the store:
    1) Peperomia Obtusifolia
    2) Siam Aurora Aglaonema
    3) One of my Pothos
    I'm a plant lover, but at the same time - I feel a lot of shame for having one too many plants 😞.

    I love in the US and our IKEA has amazing plants. I am so sorry yours don’t! Maybe it’s bc my store sells them quickly? I have gotten a horsetail palm, coffee plant, Chinese evergreen, rattlesnake plant, bromeliad, golden pothos, and a ton of succulents and they have never had pests and always have been in excellent shape. My plants I wish I hadn’t gotten were the pink polka dot plant-it gets way too leggy, and a red begonia that hasn’t decided if I have killed it yet. I have two angle wing begonias that are doing amazing but the Rex-it doesn’t like me! I would have said an alocasia Polly a few years ago but that’s just bc I didn’t know how to care for it. Now I have one that’s doing just fine so I love it, lol.

    • @FlorenceOzkan
      @FlorenceOzkan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're great finds for Ikea! I get where you're coming from with the begonias- I trimmed mine back to stumps and they've started to bush out a lot so maybe try it?

    The white leafs on the hoya won't die iv had white lefs on my hoya for 5 years... normally white leafs don't make it but this is just how they grow

    • @FlorenceOzkan
      @FlorenceOzkan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s still going strong so hopefully they’ll stay, but weirdly enough it’s produced a new fully white growth point from a lower down all green section 😂

    I really regret buying two of my plants. First a Dieffenbachia. I really don’t know why I bought it honestly. I don’t like how it looks, especially as it grows taller and drops all the lower leaves. It’s just an odd looking plant to me and I don’t want to look at it.
    Second my philodendron pastazanum. I love the variety, but I spent a lot of money on one and it just doesn’t look like the picture whatsoever. It’s really small and the smaller leaves are just plain green and kind of boring. It looks fine, but it’s nothing special and just pales in comparison to other plants with that price point. I just wish I had spent my money on another more interesting plant.

    I regret my extra large fiddle leaf fig tree. Its massive (5ft tall) and just in the way. It was gorgeous when it arrived but so much bigger than I expected and then after about 4 days, it started dying. I eventually got my $100 back from the seller after 3 months and the plant has 4 leaves left. I'm just waiting for her to officially die 😅

    • @FlorenceOzkan
      @FlorenceOzkan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow! I’m glad you managed to get your money back! I’ve given mine to my mum so it can take up space at her house and give her stress instead 😂

      Fiddle leaf fig trees are so stressful. I never heard anyone say that plant was doing well for them unfortunately. I think they’re gorgeous and I’d love to have a big healthy one.

    Convinced not enuff light in the UK. Got any grow lights?

    • @FlorenceOzkan

      Yep! But some plants just aren’t for me

    • @NoBootyBeauty
      @NoBootyBeauty 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's plenty "enuff" light in the UK for plants that aren't stuck on the back of a shelf and being "neglected" or "forgotten about". I live in Scotland and my light-loving plants are thriving in my south-facing conservatory. My low-light plants are thriving in other areas of my home. I have no grow lights.
