strongly agree. Some investors might want to see a smooth transition from the current bull market to a crazy bubbly market once the fed starts cutting, but the stock market is known to frustrate dreams and wishes of those who are late to the party.

Tell me how small caps would perform well when high rates are putting pressure on their bottom line… It’s not like rate cuts give them a boat load of capital overnight either. Plus, we still have yet to see the effects of the rate hikes and will enter a recession post curve uninversion.
If the Market sees rate cuts it may help small caps stock in general. The Market is about perception, right or wrong. It has been beaten up for so long, the perception is, along with a rate cut, it is now their time.

Looks like the markets really didn't like the jobs report today. 275000 new jobs, that's 37.5% higher than the 200k economists predicted so expecting a hot CPI print coming next week too.

Why would the fed cut when the economy would still be resilient
The FED needs to be proactive vs reactive. They were slow to raise rates, now they are slow to lower rates. The economy is not well. Unemployment is rising and economic growth is slowing.
