    I've never seen this video before, but I really love old home movies. So many faces of strangers that have lifetimes of stories behind them. Also, I was looking for their music videos when I saw this uploaded just an hour ago, so I'd like this unique early opportunity to say that this song is, in fact, really great.

      A fact indeed! This will always be one of my all time favorite songs. Possibly my favorite. No matter how many times I hear it, it will forever evoke comforting feelings of young long looking to the future, knowing they will face it together, always. There's a slight sense of longing, but in a wonderful day dreamy like way. Somehow makes ME feel beautiful, wonderful, and wanted, strange as that is. But I'll take it. Feeling that good is worth the slight oddity. Lol

      This album came out when I was 17/18 leaving home. I'm now back in my hometown after an injury derailed me. Due to covid , I haven't had too many run ins with people but I take care of my grandmother. Sometimes I forget so long has passed walking around her house through halls of photographs and driving through town .

    • @WatherFlower
      @WatherFlower 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@skully4249 Well I'm from Italy and, especially when I was that age, it seems to me that no one knew Death Cab For Cutie. I couldn't even find their CDs in the local CDs store.
      So I started searching on ebay and I found my favourite album, Transatlanticism, and I could afford it. Lately I did the same with Plans and the Directions DVD.
      But at that time buying from the internet wasn't so common and my parents didn't trust the ebay vendors outside the country.
      So I went to this little shop who had a young lady who bought from ebay for the customers with a small % of extra charges on the items' price. I went there a lot during that years to buy comics and CDs that I couldn't find in my country.
      And Directions was one of the stuffs I bought with my savings and with the help of this young lady (who now has a daughter and, unfortunately, doesn't offer this service anymore since everyone buys from the internet nowadays).

    Not sure how I feel about this being put up on my birthday, lol, but this video seems far, far more related to the inherent basis of the song, of those flickery camera memories, of that terror of death an nonrememberance. of that desperation to hang on to whatever love you can, be it for a family member or a screencap or a flickering bird you saw once. Maybe.
    I love this song, and I hate it. Remember that I lived once. Remember your grandparents did. And yeah, that we were basically like you.

    Some years ago, (2007/2008/2009), I saw a music video from an indie rock band. It was a video where a man wake ups and every time something happens and he appears to die, but he wakes again an again. He falls in the shower, a plant vase knocks his head.. Please, you know the name of this song?
