Little Women was my favorite book growing up. Now that I am 71, that movie version from 1994 is still my favorite. I watch it every year , and also Prancer. The little girl in that movie touched my heart so deeply. And the story is one of the sweetest, most magical portrayals of believing. I know you would love it! Also... I love to find really pretty bags and frame them. Instant art on a budget!!!

I have always loved and watched "It's A Wonderful Life" several times during Christmas. Also "The Christmas Story" with Ralphie. I'm always drawn to that 1940's era timespan. Love watching your videos. You are very informative and you and your family are precious.
The Hallmark Christmas movies have a lot of inspiration. Some settings are fancy sparkly decor; while others take place in small towns or out in the country with more farmhouse or rustic decor, which I love. Walmart has upped their game with really nice Holiday decor the last few years. Thanks for sharing.

As silly as it sounds, I like to watch Home Alone each year and one of the reasons is that house. It’s just full of traditional red and green! Nice Walmart finds- my local stores don’t seem to have as much but I did buy 2 small stuffed trees. One has embroidery and one says Joy. I loved that wreath with the fruit.
Woah! Totally not silly and I'm right there with you on the Home Alone house! It just 'feels' like Christmas and has been a long-time inspiration for me in my approach to decorating (which is homey and sweater-y).
Love the Old fashion look for Christmas. I have Victorian style burgandy and green stockings and treeskirt I made years ago, and love to decorate with old fashion ornaments of glass and wood, as well as greenery.and ribbons. My tree beads are cranberry and gold. Some new greenery and ribbon would be nice this year. I hope our Walmart has such a selection. I have some storybooks that have influenced my decor too. Lots of greens, berries, and ribbon. Love that version of Little Women and the.comfy cozy family look. My favorite Christmas video is The Nativity story.
Truthfully, this is the perfect time if not even earlier to share what's out there. I want to have my decor ready to go and that means planning and purchasing a couple of weeks ahead so when it's time to decorate I'm ready. So thanks for showing us what's out there.

I just stopped at hobby lobby this morning and picked up a couple Christmas things. I love a traditional Christmas look and I’m super into tartan plaid. The green tartan plaid paper at Walmart looked amazing. It would look great mixed with the Merry Christmas paper you bought. Little Women is such a sweet movie.

I’m trying to add some of your ideas to my decor. I grew up in the 70’s and my mom still had all of the 1950 decorations lol I now inherited them. I think of her every time I hang the sweet tiny bells she owned.
I went to Walmart last week and I did NOT want to look at the Christmas decor yet but I did and I was so surprised….beautiful stuff that doesn’t look cheap! The prices are very reasonable too!

Love that wrapping paper with the trees. I do a lot of greyish blues and greens with soft champagnes. It gives me hand painted feels. I get dried orange slices from Kirkland in a potpourri and it also has dried apple slices

I love everything about that movie and the beautiful and inspiring quotes! The color green and a vintage book and a wonderful danish porcelain plate found on our summer holiday with little girls and Santa Claus, vintage toys and natural beautiful elements are my inspiration for this year! Thanks for sharing the Walmart decor. I have already decorated for Christmas because my granddaughter is coming to decorate my trees with me. This is a tradition since she was only able to reach the bottom part of the tree. No she is 17. The others have grown up and married.

I was going to suggest for the Sweet Annie basket your husband hung by your back door, putting a simple burlap bow with a charming ornament attached would look so very pretty. Love your purchases! I've also always used plain brown paper to wrap gifts. Finish with twine and a sprig of fresh greenery - timeless! Maybe dry some orange slices for packages, too. Hi Andrea! Oh Christmas time! My favorite season ❤ I go back in time when I was a little girl and try to bring back childhood memories. I remember the old lights that we hand on our trees. They at that time were more colorful. One of my favorites, were the lights that bubbling water in them. Haha, I could not understand how they made bubbles. Oh well. That version of Little Women is my very favorite too. When my daughter was a teenager back in the 90's, several of her friends often came to our house and after watching Little Women, they began to call me "Marmee" after the mother in the story. They still call me that to this day and it has also handed down to my grandchildren who also call me Marmee. =) So that movie carries a lot of special memories for us. When my kids were growing up, we would also read "A Cup of Christmas Tea" by Tom Hegg on Christmas Eve and had a cup of Christmas tea in special Christmas tea cups as we read it. =) It's a sweet little story about a young man's reluctant visit to his elderly great aunt's house and how the visit ended up blessing him in a special way. Ahhhh. So sweet. I love the cedar swags that you got. So lovely. I might just have to go pick up a couple of those. Thank you for sharing, Andrea. That was so fun! I was in Walmart the other day but didn't head over to the Christmas area as I had my older son who was trying to keep me focused on getting a few groceries and leaving. I'll be going back to look in that area. I always watch A Christmas Story for the old house and simplicity of life. My favorite book I read every Christmas is called The Family Nobody Wanted by Helen Doss. I bought my copy when I was 14 with baby sitting money and I read it every year at Christmas. Some libraries have it but it is out of print. Amazon has it. Highly recommend!

The real looking garland is so pricey but it is an investment for years to come. Last year I bought three garlands and I added three more last week. I love how the feel and drape. The wired ribbon is nice but last year I bought wide silky ribbon for more of the droopy effect. I look forward to seeing how you are going to decorate this year. Thanks for sharing. 🎄🌲🎄❤

Walmart has really done well this year in their decor. I have been trying to downsize my Christmas so did not purchase anything but I love to look at it all. The Christmas story. Hear me out. That time period is older than me but I do remember going to Woolworth's and looking at the displays and jt was red and turquoise my favorite Christmas 's that I remembered. I was like 4, 5. Or 6. Seeing the parade afterwards and then seeing Santa. This was about a week before Christmas after the kids were out of school. We had a 10 day break before Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. 0 snow days. They only let school out early 3 times in my life for Blizzards called "whiteouts". Tfs, Pea

I like what you purchased. Love the wreath with the orange slices as well. A Time to Keep, Take Joy and other Tasha Tudor books always inspire. Take Joy and Take Peace dvds about her Christmas celebrations always inspired me. Classic movies inspire too. Little Women (1947 one too), The Bishop's Wife, Christmas in Connecticut have pretty trees and are inspiring for decor. Maybe some inspiration from Little House on the Prairie books and tv show too.

I love decorating early. Have always done it. I started to decorate all the rooms in the house when my boys were small. Took so long to do it o started early and left it up til after the new year lol. I personally think that a lot people who aren’t curmugeons lol are kinder and gentler at Christmas time so if that can start early too I’m all for it. ❤️
A couple fave movies this time of year not mentioned 1.The little Princess 2.Emmet Otter's Jug band Christmas ❤. Not sure of your child's age but it is a classic. It's a beautiful little story! 3.

I'll be going back to look in that area. I always watch A Christmas Story for the old house and simplicity of life. My favorite book I read every Christmas is called The Family Nobody Wanted by Helen Doss. I bought my copy when I was 14 with baby sitting money and I read it every year at Christmas. Some libraries have it but it is out of print. Amazon has it. Highly recommend!

The real looking garland is so pricey but it is an investment for years to come. Last year I bought three garlands and I added three more last week. I love how the feel and drape. The wired ribbon is nice but last year I bought wide silky ribbon for more of the droopy effect. I look forward to seeing how you are going to decorate this year. Thanks for sharing. 🎄🌲🎄❤
Thank you for sharing your ideas and finds. I too am always up for a nostalgic, vintage Christmas. There is something about Christmas's from long ago that inspire me. Walmart has really done well this year in their decor. I have been trying to downsize my Christmas so did not purchase anything but I love to look at it all. Looking forward to seeing how you decorate.

The Christmas story. Hear me out. That time period is older than me but I do remember going to Woolworth's and looking at the displays and jt was red and turquoise my favorite Christmas 's that I remembered. I was like 4, 5. Or 6. Seeing the parade afterwards and then seeing Santa. This was about a week before Christmas after the kids were out of school. We had a 10 day break before Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. 0 snow days. They only let school out early 3 times in my life for Blizzards called "whiteouts".

I have a vintage hardback copy of Dickens “A Christmas Carol” as part my decorations on a shelf. Of course, I also use a small collection of nativity sets as well.

I like what you purchased. Love the wreath with the orange slices as well. A Time to Keep, Take Joy and other Tasha Tudor books always inspire. Take Joy and Take Peace dvds about her Christmas celebrations always inspired me. Classic movies inspire too. Little Women (1947 one too), The Bishop's Wife, Christmas in Connecticut have pretty trees and are inspiring for decor. Maybe some inspiration from Little House on the Prairie books and tv show too.

I love decorating early. Have always done it. I started to decorate all the rooms in the house when my boys were small. Took so long to do it o started early and left it up til after the new year lol. I personally think that a lot people who aren’t curmugeons lol are kinder and gentler at Christmas time so if that can start early too I’m all for it. ❤️

Hi Andrea, I am excited to take a closer look at Walmart. I too love Little Women and the 1994 version is wonderful. I want to simplify this season and do what you said to review what I have on hand, it's fun to see all the items that I have collected or given to me as gifts over the years.
It was great to see what the USA Walmart has this Christmas. Ours here in Canada has almost none of those things, not sure why. Perhaps I can go across the border for a shop, I'm hoping so. Thanks so much for the video.

Love your video and what you showed at Walmart. Stopped it and bought one of the last cedar garlands they have here at our store. Whew, haha. But wanted to say, it's an old movie but to us, it's a classic. "Shop Around The Corner". They all work in a store and decorate it for Christmas! Definitely worth looking up. Love your paper too!
