      14:40 Sir Nick actually simplifies a Leadbetter theory and has a little fun whilst doing so.
      David Leadbetter is very fond of explaining his theories - almost justifies his pricing structure :-))

    • @emncaity
      @emncaity 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pretty good. I agree. People are wrong when they say Lead doesn't know what he's talking about, because he does. But there is a certain level of complication which -- intentional or not -- ends up making the whole thing seem much more difficult and more a matter of specialized "inside" knowledge than it should. I happen to think he's a good guy and pretty brilliant on the swing, especially on how the lower body works, but there is no doubt he's always got an eye toward making a very good living and is particularly good at recasting, repackaging, rejargoning, etc., in a way that keeps people wanting to buy the product. (Cf. the "A-swing," which...mmph.)

    Faldo's stony gameface and iron man reputation were always a façade to not give anything away to his opponents. What appeared to be an incredible transformation when he started announcing is really what he was always like when he wasn't 'working'.

    Wonderful tips. I would say everyone is different and some tips may apply. I agree his swing was not built for length but held up under pressure as he proved so many times. I use some of his wing tips, i am not flexible nor would i ever reach today's tour swing speed's, but i can get it 250-260 off the tee on average, with that right arm stretch tip, it works for me. I discovered this on my own and i am glad to see a multiple major winner reiterating it. Great player and goofy personality that is enjoyable to watch.

      ***** Faldo isn't a social animal by any means, he doesn't need the company of others to get on with his life,. I once knew a guy who used to caddy for him and he wasn't disappointed when Faldo fired him and he got Harrington's bag instead. Life became a lot more enjoyable for him, put it like that.
      Having said that, the guy is a perfectionist and you aren't going to take that out of him,. I think he does the best teaching videos of all the great pro's bar perhaps Tom Watson. I maintain to this day that Tom Watson taught me the right way {for me) to swing a golf club.

    • @emncaity
      @emncaity 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      " I think he does the best teaching videos of all the great pro's bar perhaps Tom Watson."
      Nicklaus wasn't too bad. Or Snead, or Bobby Jones.

    • @sledge1960
      @sledge1960 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      As I said, 'for me'. Nobody in their right mind or concerned with their future health condition swings a club like Nicklaus. It's all relative to the individual buddy, Watson's 'Secret' worked for me. Mickelson does the best bunker play vids, again, 'for me'. Butch Harmon never made it to the heady heights of the greats but his vids are excellent too.

    Dear Dreama, please keep on playing its a great game but if you really want to get some enjoyment out of it and play at a reasonable standard obtain Faldo's book "A Swing for Life" - next to Ben Hogan's 5 Lessons, this is the bench mark. Faldo was probably second only to Hogan for work ethic in the last 50 years and his swing is all about keeping it simple, smoothing & control. Might not be exciting to a newbie to the game but its beats sheer muscle & brute strength any day.

    • @robertdore9592
      @robertdore9592 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Faldo's book is better; the simple reason is that Hogan fought a hook for much of his early career, whereas Faldo's manual was written from a neutral standpoint.

    • @fradaja
      @fradaja 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ds1868 the fact is he can't compete on modern courses, and he's a giant, only used his top half really, his legs simply supported this like springs, shame.

    • @pragmaticmeatsack
      @pragmaticmeatsack 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @pragmaticmeatsack
      @pragmaticmeatsack 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      fradaja Him not competing has zilch to do with his hip action. If he wanted to compete, he would be on the Champions tour. But he has a kush million $ TV job. And at 57 years old he is too old for the PGA tour. But because some mouth breather on youtube thinks a nearly 60 year old 47 time winner and 6 time major winner needs to copy the swing of a kid less than half his age, stop the presses. perhaps if Arnold Palmer swung more like Bubba Watson, he'd be competing too..
