I’ve been playing Grace for a while now and almost accidentally got the world record for longest run. I hate seeing people, not you, completely tear down grace. They’re saying stuff like, “Oh, they should put higher quality texture in.” Or, “Erm, they should make it higher quality like pressure.” But I have seen the developer do Q&A’s in the discord server. He intentionally made the rooms a bit lower quality, so that you can have more attention on gameplay. Also, they say more room variety. But this would completely throw off speed runners and endurance runners, since the amount of rooms they have now makes it so you can expect what’s coming. It makes me and the community really happy to see someone praise Grace. God bless you man.

i see the similarities to The Mandela Catelogue, specifically from the "Dozer" entity. The main point for me is that if you keep moving when it opens its eyes, the eyes get more elongated. This reminds me of the one point in Mandela when "gabriel" revealed his face behind the censor bar covering it, and his eyes elongate. I really like the attention to detail. I hope those devs keep it up!
I really love that the game was inspired with The Bible, especially when the entities itself have something with it. Goatman's the devil that will take you when you waste your time. Dozer kills you if you excessively deny the warnings, Sorrow's the cry of agony, Elkman's that one regret that haunts us when we did a sin, Carnations and Slugworms, the one who you need to be cautious when taking a path, especially when these two does a combo, and Slight and Heed are eyes that you need to define to see things what is wrong or right. But "the one who is watching", I call it "Eye of Grace", (when you died, he appears, quoting something), is a guide with a cryptic warnings. It might be difficult to fully understand the purpose of Grace, but as you resume your run. Think of it as your day, and the path you took will be something that strives you... There is a path... That has prepared only to those who are willing to took it...

4:01 for anyone wondering how the Mandela catalogue is involved with Grace, is because there is an entity in the game called dozer, and if you get jumpscared by him and mimics the transformation of the alternates from the show.
Got a thing for each of these entities that can help you go faster or just as a fun fact! 1: Carnation and dozer combo, if dozer appears he actually slows down the time of carnation going by 2: Elkman, after accidentally running at him i got the badge “dap me up” by touching the elkman meaning you can safely go past him and trough the next door instead of going back and using your time if you go through the middle as proof, while doing a run, a player in my server did exactly that and hid behind a wall at the next door 3: funfact, the goat man doesn’t like it when you flash a light at him so if you do he’ll just reset his animation giving you more time(you can do this by left clicking). Also at the moment, when the goatman spawns theres a red square that’ll appear on your screen as seen here 9:31 wich is the direction the goatman will lunge at you, the square can help you flash him before getting hit by him, this might be a bug that might get fixed in the updates tho 4: since slugfish’s kill box (the hitbox that kills you) is only at his head, the rest of his body is safe to touch giving you an advantage being able to crouch under it
As much as I love how roblox games are reaching international media, I do wish different types of roblox games that do not follow the "go trough doors" genre will get that same recognition to. Don't get me wrong, as long as you twist the concept of the og source material, it is deserved. But if this keeps on going on for the 20th time, it gets mundane.
Oh yes, definitely, same with the "do machines while monster/player chases you" as its also pretty diluted at this point. Don't get me wrong, games like Pressure and Dandy's are great, but Id enjoy some diversity in my horror/survival games.

8BitRyan and Moist Critical did play Roblox before Doors. Charlie played and Ryan both played squid game games and Ryan played The Mimic, apeirophobia, and a few other games. DTI has brought in a lot of big streamers and TH-camrs to the platform. I wish it was for a better game but it’s still cool to see.

I feel like what makes grace "scary" isn't the actual entities or themes of the game, but instead the fear of losing progress. which makes playing this game feel less repetitive since it doesn't have to start off slow and can go all wild from the start of the first hatch

This game is great, i've always been interested in more fast paced and intense games. This basically takes what i like about doors and combines it with my favorite style of games . The only thing i don't like about it is that it's endless, i'm not a big fan of endless games cause i always like to have a clear objective that can be done to get that good feeling of accomplishment. Still over all a great game, tho i have to say, "terrifying" feels like the wrong word to be used here, the game itself isn't scary, but instead like what you said, it makes you panic cause each mistake brings you closer to death. I feel like "intense" would be a better fit, but maybe there's a better word for that
The typically agreed upon "ending" for speedruns and such is reaching saferoom 5 (room 240), which is the first saferoom to not introduce new entities. If you want a "win" condition, that's a good choice. After that the game just throws in more difficult entity pairings.
While I get Doors fatigue could be a thing in the future, I personally think these 3 games make up a "Holy triangle" so to speak. Doors is like an all rounder, you could be fast while doing it but you also need to employ some strategy with the bosses + other entities. Pressure (I'd say anyway) is much more strategy based with only one shop visit and having to get used to the Angler's 4 different types along with other entities. And Grace completes this triad with it solely focusing on speed with the timer and it's entities. Though I wouldn't be surprised if we get "Skibidi Toilet Room Runner" in like the next year or so.

This game is THE PERFECT Roblox game (for me at least), I love speed, needing to calculate and process and plan at a high pace is SUPER FUN. Then there’s the horror, the game is genuinely suspenseful to the point that the “jumpscares” aren’t even the scary part, it’s everything leading up to them. Then there’s the big thing for me, the Christian messaging! If you are a Christian, I ask you to look at the game in all its little details and see how it ALL provides a very nice perspective on living as a Christian! From this point on ima explain most the small Christian stuffs that I found, not all of it tho so keep looking! First of all, the entire game is about the life of a Christian, each entity represents sin, some represent categories of sins while others represent sins themselves. The idea of the game is that you are running to the light (the path you go through in the game leads to a BIG star in the sky, a common representation of God), and on your path to the light you encounter obstacles, sins, that kill you (as that’s why the toll of sin is on a person, it kills them in a specific way, more on this later). Ima list what I think each sin represents and why you counter them the way you do. Carnation- I believe it to represent general fleshly/worldy sins and desires, the *temptations* that lead to destruction in life. You counter it by hiding in the light (as the only fixed light sources in the game are in places where you can hide from carnation, including safe rooms), biblically, you are supposed to run to God when you are badly tempted, as anything sinful cannot stay in his holy *LIGHT* (see what I mean?). Basically, you hide in the light to dispel the darkness coming after you. Sorrow- it’s in the name, many people see sin as just that, a thing we can’t do just because, but it isn’t, sin is simply any actions or emotions we allow to take over that impact us negatively, they are deemed as sins by God because he wants us to live the best possible lives regardless of situation. Sorrow is a sin in the sense that it is a lie, it is the little sadness that takes over your life and removes your drive when you allow it to. At times it can be difficult to avoid sorrow, but it is always possible, it’s always good day, and the rain is a reminder of that. (Sorrow changed my outlook on life, being genuine here, silly Roblox speed game changed the way I perceive existence for the better) Goatman- Literally Satan.. when you stay away from God for enough time (which is what I believe the safe rooms to represent, a form of Godly sanctuary) Satan takes the chance to jump at you, he despises you, for you are flawed yet still loved by God, (he’s a HUGE narcissist who thought that God screwed up by making beings that can choose and that are imperfect, so he tried to overthrow God to kill us and make everything “””perfect””” [his version of perfection means tyranny where no one has free will of any kind] now he jumps at us whenever we are far from God as it’s the only chance he has at “hurting” God, by hurting his creations), when you are far from the safe rooms for enough time, you are distant from the thing that repels the goatman, and he takes that chance to jump at you. Plus whenever you get to a safe room but don’t jump in, he sees you as close to being fully safe from his influence, so he ditches temptations and sin and straight up goes for you with everything he’s got. Dozer- Ego, as the achievement says, swallow your pride. This is pretty self explanatory, to show the humility to bow down to someone/thing else is to overcome your ego. Ego is easily used to isolate you in life, then your high self image is removed when you are at your worst, showing what your life actually is because you thought yourself as better than other people. Slight/Sight- Seeing sinful things willingly (as you need to actively look at him for him to do anything), after falling to him, your head is clouded with awful thoughts and ideas (read the words that pop up when you fall to it), when you willingly see sinful things, that ingrains itself into your head, it alters the way you think of many different things and even causes mental health issues (which is why one of the phrases that pop up when you fall is “I’m inside”). Heed- Temptation, this is different from carnation in the way that it isn’t just fleshly temptations, it’s just the will to do anything sinful at all. If you ignore it before you get past it, it’s gonna screw ya up. Side note: when you are already cloud minded, you die because sinful thoughts and ideas followed by a sinful action or more ignored temptations lead to full on sin, which has been established as death in this game (as it can end your current walk with God, which is why you restart after, read what the eye that represents God says after you die, you can choose to keep fighting towards the light or you can give up.) I can’t really think of what Elkman and Slugfish really represent, they are hinted to be something which I have the abstract idea of what it means, but I can’t exactly put it into words. Whenever you die in a run, that is you falling to sin, to the Goatman’s will. When you do that you become die in a special way (it’s a form of spiritual death, which is less of an ending of existence and more of a true disconnect to God). Thus after falling you hear God ask and lead you to try again, to go to him, as its better to suffer through those halls that represent life for a limited time rather than permanently willingly disconnect yourself from God (which is what Hell is, when you choose to be away from God willingly, you are sent to the one place without him or anything from him, which includes all things created and goodness itself.). If you give up on trying to live life away from sin, if you give up on loving the only one that truly loves you unconditionally and turn away from him, you will fall to what the Goatman wants for you, which is suffering and death as “retribution” for your imperfection (something that God sees as simply an issue we have that he provides partial remedies for that we can choose to take). This game is truly amazing and provides so much introspective on what it means to be a Christian, even the lobby has a mural representing Gods love being poured down on the world through Jesus! Thank you so much for reading through all of this if you did, it was truly an essay (and then some) and if you just skipped to the bottom, just know that I wrote a bunch of Christian psychology and philosophy that could be pretty valuable even if y’ain’t a Christian. I love God and know that he loves y’all’s too, GOD BLESS!!!!!

Fun Fact about Slight and Heed; In lore, the player’s vision is distorted after either looking at Slight or ignoring Heed because the entities actually replace each of the player’s eyes, with Slight replacing your left eye and Heed replacing your right. If both entities replace your eyes, you die. Pretty cool concept, honestly, and I like how it’s displayed in-game.
Correction: at 5:12, the 3 buttons are actually for crouching/sliding the run button has 2 buttons for default, but you may add an additional keybind in the settings

This is actually crazy but you can actually just pass by the elkman and hide behind the wall of the next room to avoid it. Its significantly faster and you even get an achievement for it (dap me up). And the only thing that has a hitbox with the slugfish is its mouth so you can start moving as soon as it makes the funny sound and you can even clip inside of it and you'll be fine. not too be overly negative but the section of this video where you talk about the inspiration Grace took from Pizza Tower kinda wiped the smile off of my face, the timer mechanic wasnt an innovation from Tour de Pizza and the art style is not even remotely like Pizza Tower's distinct style, the inspiration taken is much more likely from the pace of the game and its emphasis on quick reaction time

Grace has ttf2-esque movement and they're forced speedrunning and fast pace is based on pizza tower, its meant to force you to rush to the next saferoom, they also include 4 references, the pizza tower timer, a run anim called "Mach 40", the song "Its pizza time", and a badge called "LAP 2"
as a grace player; the timer is the least of our problems, you can run past elkman, you can slide through the worm, you can trimp over carnage, but the eyes are almost random, you never know which one will you get and when you're going fast, you can't stop and process the information the colour gives you, i'm pretty sure that's why you have 2 lives against them

ngl i just came to this video because of the title, only to say this game isn't scary, there aren't even proper jumpscares (i know horror games can be good without jumpscares). i think its because this game makes me feel more automatic, rather than thinking or paranoid. all you have to do is "keep running until entity spawns, despawn/survive entity by doing certain thing".
Hey bedsheet, I think when they say that it was inspired from 'inscription' they mean art style; being the badges and the papers you find. Same thing can be seen with Pressure with the inspiration from 'ultrakill' being used in the art of badges.
Honestly Dozer is probably the best thing in a roblox game. The way the face unapologetically stretches to the point that some parts clip out of the supposed head instills a very specific kind of panic into me that I only witness for the first time. Like, Dozer is already unsettling on his own, usually appearing at very intense times, and when you fail to completely stop, you witness _that_
Here are some tips! Dozer slows down carnation. You can slide down stairs for more speed. Release sprint while sliding to conserve speed for some reason. Look up about a trick called "Trimping" and learn how to do it. It's called "Slight" not "Sight". You can click with the flashlight to slow down goatman, while also getting a badge. Lantern is better because it lets you see more. Most of slugfish isn't solid and you can pass through it. You can time jumping and sliding to go a bit faster, or just spam. You can run past elkman and survive, just hide behind a wall of the next room. You get a badge for touching elkman. You can turn on commands in a custom lobby. (Enables things like timer setting and god mode) You can make lobbies with up to 50 players if you make a custom lobby. You can make/join custom lobbies using the white rectangle at spawn.
Fun fact: You can only survive one encounter from Heed or Sight before dying on the next encounter. This applies to one of both entities, for example, you can fail a Sight encounter and then later die to Heed. This is because, lorewise, Heed and Sight replace your eyes when you mess up their encounters. It's why your vision gets ruined when you do.

4:01 for anyone wondering how the Mandela catalogue is involved with Grace, is because there is an entity in the game called dozer, and if you get jumpscared by him and mimics the transformation of the alternates from the show.
Got a thing for each of these entities that can help you go faster or just as a fun fact!
1: Carnation and dozer combo, if dozer appears he actually slows down the time of carnation going by
2: Elkman, after accidentally running at him i got the badge “dap me up” by touching the elkman meaning you can safely go past him and trough the next door instead of going back and using your time if you go through the middle as proof, while doing a run, a player in my server did exactly that and hid behind a wall at the next door
3: funfact, the goat man doesn’t like it when you flash a light at him so if you do he’ll just reset his animation giving you more time(you can do this by left clicking). Also at the moment, when the goatman spawns theres a red square that’ll appear on your screen as seen here 9:31 wich is the direction the goatman will lunge at you, the square can help you flash him before getting hit by him, this might be a bug that might get fixed in the updates tho
4: since slugfish’s kill box (the hitbox that kills you) is only at his head, the rest of his body is safe to touch giving you an advantage being able to crouch under it
Unfortunately, Elkman has collision. Also Flashing is done with left click, right clicking causes you to stop/start running.

As much as I love how roblox games are reaching international media, I do wish different types of roblox games that do not follow the "go trough doors" genre will get that same recognition to. Don't get me wrong, as long as you twist the concept of the og source material, it is deserved. But if this keeps on going on for the 20th time, it gets mundane.
Oh yes, definitely, same with the "do machines while monster/player chases you" as its also pretty diluted at this point. Don't get me wrong, games like Pressure and Dandy's are great, but Id enjoy some diversity in my horror/survival games.

I feel like what makes grace "scary" isn't the actual entities or themes of the game, but instead the fear of losing progress. which makes playing this game feel less repetitive since it doesn't have to start off slow and can go all wild from the start of the first hatch

This game is great, i've always been interested in more fast paced and intense games. This basically takes what i like about doors and combines it with my favorite style of games . The only thing i don't like about it is that it's endless, i'm not a big fan of endless games cause i always like to have a clear objective that can be done to get that good feeling of accomplishment.
Still over all a great game, tho i have to say, "terrifying" feels like the wrong word to be used here, the game itself isn't scary, but instead like what you said, it makes you panic cause each mistake brings you closer to death. I feel like "intense" would be a better fit, but maybe there's a better word for that

The typically agreed upon "ending" for speedruns and such is reaching saferoom 5 (room 240), which is the first saferoom to not introduce new entities. If you want a "win" condition, that's a good choice. After that the game just throws in more difficult entity pairings.

While I get Doors fatigue could be a thing in the future, I personally think these 3 games make up a "Holy triangle" so to speak. Doors is like an all rounder, you could be fast while doing it but you also need to employ some strategy with the bosses + other entities. Pressure (I'd say anyway) is much more strategy based with only one shop visit and having to get used to the Angler's 4 different types along with other entities. And Grace completes this triad with it solely focusing on speed with the timer and it's entities. Though I wouldn't be surprised if we get "Skibidi Toilet Room Runner" in like the next year or so.

It’s like carcinization, every game will become doors.
This game is THE PERFECT Roblox game (for me at least), I love speed, needing to calculate and process and plan at a high pace is SUPER FUN. Then there’s the horror, the game is genuinely suspenseful to the point that the “jumpscares” aren’t even the scary part, it’s everything leading up to them. Then there’s the big thing for me, the Christian messaging! If you are a Christian, I ask you to look at the game in all its little details and see how it ALL provides a very nice perspective on living as a Christian! From this point on ima explain most the small Christian stuffs that I found, not all of it tho so keep looking!
First of all, the entire game is about the life of a Christian, each entity represents sin, some represent categories of sins while others represent sins themselves. The idea of the game is that you are running to the light (the path you go through in the game leads to a BIG star in the sky, a common representation of God), and on your path to the light you encounter obstacles, sins, that kill you (as that’s why the toll of sin is on a person, it kills them in a specific way, more on this later). Ima list what I think each sin represents and why you counter them the way you do.
Carnation- I believe it to represent general fleshly/worldy sins and desires, the *temptations* that lead to destruction in life. You counter it by hiding in the light (as the only fixed light sources in the game are in places where you can hide from carnation, including safe rooms), biblically, you are supposed to run to God when you are badly tempted, as anything sinful cannot stay in his holy *LIGHT* (see what I mean?). Basically, you hide in the light to dispel the darkness coming after you.
Sorrow- it’s in the name, many people see sin as just that, a thing we can’t do just because, but it isn’t, sin is simply any actions or emotions we allow to take over that impact us negatively, they are deemed as sins by God because he wants us to live the best possible lives regardless of situation. Sorrow is a sin in the sense that it is a lie, it is the little sadness that takes over your life and removes your drive when you allow it to. At times it can be difficult to avoid sorrow, but it is always possible, it’s always good day, and the rain is a reminder of that. (Sorrow changed my outlook on life, being genuine here, silly Roblox speed game changed the way I perceive existence for the better)
Goatman- Literally Satan.. when you stay away from God for enough time (which is what I believe the safe rooms to represent, a form of Godly sanctuary) Satan takes the chance to jump at you, he despises you, for you are flawed yet still loved by God, (he’s a HUGE narcissist who thought that God screwed up by making beings that can choose and that are imperfect, so he tried to overthrow God to kill us and make everything “””perfect””” [his version of perfection means tyranny where no one has free will of any kind] now he jumps at us whenever we are far from God as it’s the only chance he has at “hurting” God, by hurting his creations), when you are far from the safe rooms for enough time, you are distant from the thing that repels the goatman, and he takes that chance to jump at you. Plus whenever you get to a safe room but don’t jump in, he sees you as close to being fully safe from his influence, so he ditches temptations and sin and straight up goes for you with everything he’s got.
Dozer- Ego, as the achievement says, swallow your pride. This is pretty self explanatory, to show the humility to bow down to someone/thing else is to overcome your ego. Ego is easily used to isolate you in life, then your high self image is removed when you are at your worst, showing what your life actually is because you thought yourself as better than other people.
Slight/Sight- Seeing sinful things willingly (as you need to actively look at him for him to do anything), after falling to him, your head is clouded with awful thoughts and ideas (read the words that pop up when you fall to it), when you willingly see sinful things, that ingrains itself into your head, it alters the way you think of many different things and even causes mental health issues (which is why one of the phrases that pop up when you fall is “I’m inside”).
Heed- Temptation, this is different from carnation in the way that it isn’t just fleshly temptations, it’s just the will to do anything sinful at all. If you ignore it before you get past it, it’s gonna screw ya up. Side note: when you are already cloud minded, you die because sinful thoughts and ideas followed by a sinful action or more ignored temptations lead to full on sin, which has been established as death in this game (as it can end your current walk with God, which is why you restart after, read what the eye that represents God says after you die, you can choose to keep fighting towards the light or you can give up.)
I can’t really think of what Elkman and Slugfish really represent, they are hinted to be something which I have the abstract idea of what it means, but I can’t exactly put it into words.
Whenever you die in a run, that is you falling to sin, to the Goatman’s will. When you do that you become die in a special way (it’s a form of spiritual death, which is less of an ending of existence and more of a true disconnect to God). Thus after falling you hear God ask and lead you to try again, to go to him, as its better to suffer through those halls that represent life for a limited time rather than permanently willingly disconnect yourself from God (which is what Hell is, when you choose to be away from God willingly, you are sent to the one place without him or anything from him, which includes all things created and goodness itself.). If you give up on trying to live life away from sin, if you give up on loving the only one that truly loves you unconditionally and turn away from him, you will fall to what the Goatman wants for you, which is suffering and death as “retribution” for your imperfection (something that God sees as simply an issue we have that he provides partial remedies for that we can choose to take).
This game is truly amazing and provides so much introspective on what it means to be a Christian, even the lobby has a mural representing Gods love being poured down on the world through Jesus!
Thank you so much for reading through all of this if you did, it was truly an essay (and then some) and if you just skipped to the bottom, just know that I wrote a bunch of Christian psychology and philosophy that could be pretty valuable even if y’ain’t a Christian. Had to survive Carnation but before the right before the safe room Dozer, Sorrow, and Slugfish spawned so I had to hide under the doorway and crouch then quicklyget out of the way for Slugffsh and hope Carnation is moving slow enough. 😨

In lore, the player’s vision is distorted after either looking at Slight or ignoring Heed because the entities actually replace each of the player’s eyes, with Slight replacing your left eye and Heed replacing your right. If both entities replace your eyes, you die. Pretty cool concept, honestly, and I like how it’s displayed in-game.

This is actually crazy but you can actually just pass by the elkman and hide behind the wall of the next room to avoid it. Its significantly faster and you even get an achievement for it (dap me up). And the only thing that has a hitbox with the slugfish is its mouth so you can start moving as soon as it makes the funny sound and you can even clip inside of it and you'll be fine. Amazing video!!!!!!

I don't know if anyone else has answered this yet, but I think the Inspiration from inscription is shown in how you lose an eye to heed/sight, because you lose an eye in inscription. I never played either games however so I may be wrong lol-
not too be overly negative but the section of this video where you talk about the inspiration Grace took from Pizza Tower kinda wiped the smile off of my face, the timer mechanic wasnt an innovation from Tour de Pizza and the art style is not even remotely like Pizza Tower's distinct style, the inspiration taken is much more likely from the pace of the game and its emphasis on quick reaction time

Grace has ttf2-esque movement and they're forced speedrunning and fast pace is based on pizza tower, its meant to force you to rush to the next saferoom, they also include 4 references, the pizza tower timer, a run anim called "Mach 40", the song "Its pizza time", and a badge called "LAP 2"

ngl i just came to this video because of the title, only to say this game isn't scary, there aren't even proper jumpscares (i know horror games can be good without jumpscares). i think its because this game makes me feel more automatic, rather than thinking or paranoid. all you have to do is "keep running until entity spawns, despawn/survive entity by doing certain thing".

Hey bedsheet, I think when they say that it was inspired from 'inscription' they mean art style; being the badges and the papers you find. Same thing can be seen with Pressure with the inspiration from 'ultrakill' being used in the art of badges.

Honestly Dozer is probably the best thing in a roblox game. The way the face unapologetically stretches to the point that some parts clip out of the supposed head instills a very specific kind of panic into me that I only witness for the first time. Like, Dozer is already unsettling on his own, usually appearing at very intense times, and when you fail to completely stop, you witness _that_

Here are some tips!
Dozer slows down carnation.
You can slide down stairs for more speed.
Release sprint while sliding to conserve speed for some reason.
Look up about a trick called "Trimping" and learn how to do it.
It's called "Slight" not "Sight".
You can click with the flashlight to slow down goatman, while also getting a badge.
Lantern is better because it lets you see more.
Most of slugfish isn't solid and you can pass through it.
You can time jumping and sliding to go a bit faster, or just spam.
You can run past elkman and survive, just hide behind a wall of the next room.
You get a badge for touching elkman.
You can turn on commands in a custom lobby. (Enables things like timer setting and god mode)
You can make lobbies with up to 50 players if you make a custom lobby.
You can make/join custom lobbies using the white rectangle at spawn.

Fun fact: You can only survive one encounter from Heed or Sight before dying on the next encounter. This applies to one of both entities, for example, you can fail a Sight encounter and then later die to Heed. This is because, lorewise, Heed and Sight replace your eyes when you mess up their encounters. It's why your vision gets ruined when you do.
