Thanks. It is typically advanced. Although there is a beginner area in the village and a little bit of intermediate skiing from the first stage of the gondola to the village it is predominately advanced due to limited grooming and back country skiing.

Hi James. Most importantly is get your accommodation sorted. I organised mine about 6 months in advance. Second is a guide. However if you are going to spend a few months there that will all fall into place. At the moment there really isn't any ski/snowboard shops so bring your own gear and any parts you think you will need. As I stated in the video if you are there for some time get s guide on and off during the whole time. But you may only need one one average once a week. Enjoy it ally is a special place.

Chose that camera as at the time it was one of the only waterproof cameras with stero sound recording and also a Panasonic video camera. Though currently updating everything as I find I would like better sound to cut all of the wind noise. Post production and all colour correcting was in final cut x. Hope that helps.

You will be able to find a local guide easily. Also if you are there for a while some of the guides have time off between trips and you maybe able to use them then. There is also a lot of terrain to ski without a guide. Go!
I just saw a Gulmarg video from 2021 by an indian guy saying in winter you should book room 2 months ahead if not it would be hard to find a room or you would have to pay a lot.

Great video giving a tour of the ski area and explaining some traveler tips! Is it like a normal ski hill where you ride the lift to the top over and over again or do you get one ride up to the top and can tour from there?
+Rebecca Massey You can go up and tour from there. Once you are up you can traverse left and right. You will experience many ridges and bowls. If you got good energy in you, you won;t get chance to ski a ridge again. it is;t a slope where you climb and ski back again and again.
Blu smith Meteorological department has predicted early snowfall this year here in gulmarg.. if you are interested I will be more than happy to keep you updated

I'd be interested to know what your average cumulative vertical feet of skiing per day was as it looked like a fair amount of effort and time to get the top. Either by gondola or walking. Finally - your missus doesn't have a twin sister does she? I could do with a girl friend who skis that well. Just sayin'
Thanks. I have no idea what vert we skied each day but we averaged about 4 skin runs a day. Some days we would ski to one of the towns and that would be a one run day. Awesome fun. No twins I’m afraid.
